Revealing mistakes: A policeman is seen "writing" in a pad, however it's clear that he's merely moving a closed pen across a pad already filled with words.
Continuity: When Brian and Monica are seen talking at the party in the club, Monica has an earring in her ear which subsequently disappears.
Continuity: When Roman and Brian are fighting in the sand, the smudge on Roman's face disappears and reappears several times.
Continuity: In the car chase towards the end of the film, Brian is wearing/not wearing his seatbelt between shots.
Continuity: When Roman and Brian are talking to the police after the initial chase and Roman gets in a fight with Agent Markham, his shirt is alternately buttoned/unbuttoned between shots.
Crew or equipment visible: When Brian wins the race, right before the police arrests him, he powerslides toward the crowd. The camera's shadow is visible on his car door.
Continuity: After Brian breaks through the gate when he and Roman enter the boat lot, there is no dent in the front end of his car. It is perfectly fine.
Continuity: When the cops chase Brian after the first race, Agent Markham gets out of a squad car and shoots an electrical mechanism to disable Brian's car. Brian looses control and just knocks over a parking meter. When he hits it, barely any damage is done. In the next shot when the camera pans over his car, you can see that the hood is buckled, and the whole front end is basically destroyed (i.e the missing headlight, air dam and grille area). This damage to the car was done during an outtake, when Paul Walker crashed by accident.
Continuity: When Rome and Brian are going to the impound lot, Brian breaks the gate to the entrance. You can see the front of his car receiving damage, but when they stop and get out of their cars, Brian's car has no damage at all.
Continuity: When Brian and Rome are driving through the impound lot, they both drive through dips in the ground which have muddy water in them. When you see their cars later, there is no mud on them.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When the two henchmen are arguing with Brian and Roman on the house boat, Brian ejects the unfired cartridge from the pistol, without first removing the clip, and hands it back to the henchman. Assuming that your average movie bad guy carries a firearm with a full clip, Brian has just given him a loaded weapon with a fresh round in the chamber.
Continuity: The GTR badge on the front intake of the Skyline (between the headlights) dissappears and reappears.
Continuity: When the driver in the orange muscle car is coming to the turn around the barrels in the tag team race, his sunglasses are visible before the turn, disappear during the turn, and reappear after the turn
Continuity: After the scene at the lockup, where Brian says, "Yo, let's break", and the cars begin to leave, we see the Spyder leave, and the driver is wearing orange. Yet when the cars are pulled over by the cops, and Tej and Suki climb out, Suki (driving the Spyder) is wearing black and Tej (Evo) is wearing orange.
Continuity: Whilst driving the Mitsubishi Evo there is a shot of Brian changing gear and dipping the clutch pedal. The shot used is of the pedals (with GTR logo) from the Nissan Skyline shown earlier and not of the Evo.
Continuity: In the first race between the Skyline, Supra, S2000 and the RX-7 the Supra's ground effects change from green to red and then back again multiple times.
Continuity: At the end of the first race, Brian jumps the raised bridge and smashes all the neons under his car, but moments later he slides up to the camera with all the neons working.
Revealing mistakes: In the first race when Suki jumps the draw bridge, there is no-one in the vehicle.
Continuity: In the first race, when the four racers turn a corner, Suki is in third position in one shot and she is last in the shot after it.
Errors in geography: There is are no speedways in Barstow, California. The nearest speedway is in Victorville, CA and it's 45 miles away from Barstow.
Continuity: During the struggle with Enrique and Brian right after the money is dropped off, bullets are shot through the windshield. When Rome and Brian go out to see Verone's yacht taking off, behind both of them is the Camaro with the windshield in perfect shape.
Miscellaneous: When Verone is heating the metal bucket, he uses a self-igniting "Bernzomatic" blowtorch. Verone ignites and puts out the flame without turning the fuel release knob.
Factual errors: Rome lived in a trailer when he wore a tracking device. House arrest means that the offender must live in a static home (to prevent the offender from driving out of state).
Continuity: When Brian does the Stare-and-Drive as soon as he stops he is a couple of yards away from the white line on the floor. But as soon as we go back to this we find that the Evo has moved forward to the line.
Continuity: Throughout the movie, the same Evo VII is seen with and without the Mitsubishi triple diamond emblem on the front grill, most noticeable on the highway scenes
Continuity: When Agent Markham gives Brian and Roman the GPS cell phones, Roman is seen putting his phone in his back left jeans pocket. When they turn to leave, Roman is seen putting his phone in his back left jeans pocket again.
Continuity: After they return to the garage from delivering the package to Verone (cigar), they are shown pulling up by the front door. Notice how the road is shaded from the sunlight in front of the garage. Then as they are walking back to the garage itself, the sunlight comes from another direction, illuminating the road and garage front. Also the yellow f-150 Lightning parked there has the front wheels straight, whereas seconds before they were turned.
Revealing mistakes: Obvious stunt double in he the orange muscle car as it turns around the barrels.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): While Brian and Roman are off chasing the cigar in the Ferrari, Verone is checking them and their backgrounds out. When looking at Pearce's files, we see a "psychological" profile that says "BRIAN" in the entry, yet still shows Roman's picture and name on the very top.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Whenever one of the characters hits their NOS buttons, there's always a sudden look of surprise on their face as if they didn't expect their car to go faster...
Miscellaneous: When the blue car is trying to catch up with the boat, it looks like the car is going about 55 mph. But the speedometer shows the car going over a 100 mph. Yet when the car lands and crashes onto the boat, it looks like the car impacted the boat about 25 mph.
Miscellaneous: When Brian is trying to pull out the electric claw that is lodged in the passenger door, he has his foot on the gas pedal. Brian's foot is barely pushing the pedal and that is also why his car is slowing down.
Continuity: When Brian is playing chicken with the blue car in the tag team race, some shots show the cars far apart and closer to each other.
Factual errors: When Brian and Rome are on their way to the impound lot to find Verone's red Ferrari, Brian pulls a stunt where he swerves around and starts driving backwards. No way could he keep up with the other cars on the highway in reverse. His car might get up to about 20-30mph in reverse tops. Even if he went faster than that, his car would probably end up flipping. Hollywood, however, uses cars with special transmissions just for this purpose. They have six gears forward and six reverse.
Audio/visual unsynchronized: Whenever you hear Roman's Eclipse, the exhaust note is incorrect. Subaru's use a "flat" engine that produces an unmistakable "burble." The sound mixers used the exhaust note of the Subaru WRX for the Eclipse's exhaust note.
Factual errors: Their driver's licenses show Brain and Roman as the same height, but they stand beside each other in several scenes, and Roman is obviously several inches shorter.
Crew or equipment visible: In the opening credits, as the camera moves over the crowd. You are able to see the shadow of the camera running along the bottom of the screen.
Continuity: In the first race of the film, when the driver of the Supra uses Nos to get past Brian, he presses the right button. Later when he uses Nos to jump the bridge he presses the same button again.
Continuity: When the blue car's windshield is shot full of holes and Brian kicks it out onto the hood, it disappears when he puts the car in reverse and drives off.
Continuity: The gear shift knob of Brian's Mitsubishi Evo repeatedly changes between two clearly different after-market items.
Continuity: in the trailer park scene, there is a Silver Dodge Durango used. however 2 different model years/eras are used in different shots. when the truck is parked in the first few shots, there is no "Durango" badging on the front door, making that Durango a 2001-2003 model. however when the character puts a rock on the pedal the dash is from a 1998-2000 model, same with when it races down the road.
Continuity: in the freeway scene where the police chase Brian and the other character, the shots of the cops inside their cruisers, the vehicles used are Ford Crown Victorias. in the outside shots, the cars are clearly Chevy Caprices.
Crew or equipment visible: When Brian and Roman are racing to find the Ferrari at the beginning of the movie. A red Mustang tries to follow them through the semi trailers. As the Mustang clears the rear of the trailers, the shot switches back to show the trailer wheels. As it does, it clearly shows that the vehicle filming the shot is towing a trailer. The Mustang doesn't even have a trailer hitch.
Factual errors: When Tej, Jimmy, Suki, and another girl are playing poker, Tej puts his hand close to his face, then far away and you can see that he's holding the 8, jack, queen, king, and ace of spades. Jimmy does a short rap and picks up the pot. Tej then tells him that he has a royal flush (the highest hand in poker) and takes the money. A royal flush is the 10, jack, queen, king, and ace, suited.
Continuity: When Roberto breaks the wall in the trailer to access the money, the location of the first hit changes between shots.
Continuity: When Carter and Monica are on the yacht, Carter instructs one of his henchmen to take her down inside the boat. After Roman and Brian crash into the yacht and Carter is shot, we see Monica pick up Carter's gun. The henchmen is nowhere to be found and nothing is shown as to what happened to him.
