Promo – Timothy Olyphant's 'Justified'

In March 2010, FX will be premiering a new original series. Originally called Lawman, Timothy Olyphant's new series has been renamed Justified. Set in the Southern Us, it's an old-fashioned sort of cop show, with lots of dusty trails and cowboy hats. FX has released a synopsis and a two minute promo. And Olyphant is hot. This is a plus.
Olyphant stars in the lead role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Givens is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up.
He is an anachronism – a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under

New Trailer, George Romeros The Crazies Remake

Below we have a brand new trailer for The Crazies remake. I am not a fan of Timothy Olyphant as his acting in Hitman was the definition of bad and even his work in Live Free or Die Hard was quite shallow. That said he looks to be delivering in his role as a small town cop in The crazies. Checkout the new traielr below.
The story revolves around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. A release date has been set for September 25th.

Are We Getting Gears of War: Origins?

Video game fans will be happy to hear that the big screen adaptation of Xbox 360 game Gears of War is moving along nicely. Recently the gang over at Making Of sat down with producer Wyck Godfrey for 51 seconds of updates about what we can expect from the over-the-shoulder shooter turned guaranteed box office smash.
The awesomely named producer drops the name Len Wiseman, who will probably be stepping into the director's chair. Wiseman is the mastermind behind the Underworld franchise, and director of the latest outing of everyone's favorite foul-mouthed NYPD cop John McClane, Live Free or Die Hard. Regardless of how you feel about any of those movies, Wiseman seems to have a pretty good eye for action, which let's face it, is the Only requirement needed to put together a decent Gears of War film.
Godfrey also said that diving right into the blood, guts, and ugly-ass aliens

Story of Gears of War Movie Not Following Games?

We’ve not heard too much about the anticipated live-action adaptation of the Gears of War video game franchise, but way back in February Screen Rant reported that Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) would be directing the Gears of War feature film and co-writing the screenplay alongside Chris Morgan (Wanted, Fast & Furious).
Unfortunately, Wiseman also said he knows little about video games himself – A red flag considering all video game movies tend to fall short in quality because movie studios cannot/do not replicate and/or recognize the important parts of a video game, its story and the experience it generates.
Much more recently, in October we found out that Billy Ray, who wrote State of Play and Breach, is writing the Gears of War script for New Line and that was the last we heard… until now.

Small 'Gears of War' Movie Update

We have to be on the cusp of a great era of video game movies. I simply can't believe that with all the mistakes that have been made over the years, and with all the upcoming projects in the genre, things finally have to turn around. They just have to. Halo is still out there, Warcraft has Sam Raimi's attention, Call of Duty has had its name copyrighted for future movie use (it's a start), and then there's Gears of War.
This started going down the same road of a lot of its predecessors; Brett Ratner was attached to direct at one point, and who wants that? But it's kind of turned around, in my mind, at least, with the hiring of director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard). But we're still a while away from seeing this in theaters, part of a wave of big movie adaptations of video games.

A movie based on Epic Games' smash videogame franchise Gears Of War has been gearing up (ahem) for a while, with Len Wiseman (Live Free Or Die Hard, Underworld) directing the galactic ground war.
The project is slowly grinding forward, although it sounds like they're still trying to figure out how to approach the material.
As producer Wyck Godfrey tells Making Of, it sounds like they basically want to make a prequel to the games: "The hard part is to make it into something that doesn't

'Gears of War' Producer Doesn't Want to Tell the "Epic Story"

The smash-hit Xbox 360 game Gears of War, which was optioned by New Line Cinema for a film adaptation back in 2007, is ostensibly known for two things: 1) you can cut other players - most of whom are going to be pimply faced, high-pitch voiced tweenagers who are all-too-eager to hump your digital corpse - in half with a chainsaw, creating in the process a glorious fountain of blood and revenge, and 2) you play the key savior of an entire planet in the midst of its death throes at the 'hands' of an alien race called the Locust. Both of those things can quite easily be referred to, at least by gamer standards, as epic, and yet that's not what one of the film's producers, wants to bring to the big screen.
In an interview with MakingOf (found via IGN), Wyck Godfrey revealed that he's been developing the project with Live Free or Die Hard

Cyber Monday isn't a dirty celebration as the name implies, though it is an excellent opportunity to get some good deals. The electronic answer to Black Friday, Cyber Monday falls on the Monday after Thanksgiving, offering holiday shoppers an avenue to buy products without having to fruitlessly brave the jam-packed malls nationwide. All you need is your computer, an Internet connection and some cash — and the know-how to sniff out a good deal when you see one, of course.
While there's nothing I can do to help you in the funds department, I've got you covered in terms of finding the right deals for movie-related goodies. There's no shortage of excellent shopping opportunities today, but if I was a spending man — which I'm not, but feel free to get me a gift — I'd look into the following Cyber Monday deals.

Old school video game fans are not going to be happy with this! A trailer for the live-action adaptation of the classic Snk 2D fighting game The King of Fighters has surfaced online and it looks as though it’s a serious contender for the worst video game-to-film adaptation ever made.
Starring Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard), Will Yun Lee (Elektra), and martial arts expert Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), The King of Fighters is directed by Gordon Chan, who although was behind the terrible Jackie Chan film The Medallion, also made the much loved Jet Li classic Fist of Legend.
The film’s premise is wildly different from the game it’s based upon. According to Movieset:

Len Wiseman in Talks to Direct Untitled Post-Apocalyptic Thriller

We've been hearing Len Wiseman's name thrown around a lot over the past year or two, but despite being courted for some high profile projects, he still doesn't have a gig lined up to follow 2007's Live Free or Die Hard. It's possible that he's just being choosy (which makes sense considering that Die Hard was reportedly a pretty grueling shoot), but it also seems like he's had a bit of bad luck with a few projects falling through or being put on hold. At one point he was supposed to direct the Escape From New York remake, but that seems to be dead, and he is also still attached to the Gears of War movie and the comic book adaptations Atlantis Rising and Shrapnel. However, at this point his next project is shaping up to be something entirely different.
According to The Hollywood Reporter [1], Wiseman has signed on

Len Wiseman is known to genre fans for his direction of two of the Underworld movies, and to action fans for his contribution to the Die Hard series, Live Free Or Die Hard. According to THR, he's now in talks to direct an end of the world movie based on an untitled pitch that Fox Studios bought from Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio, the pair behind the script for the Red Dawn remake. According to the THR article, "The project is based on an original idea about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position." This doesn't sound so original to me (The Stand comes to mind), but they sold it, and God bless them for it.

Len Wiseman Taking on Apocalyptic Mystery Film 'Nocturne'

What if you survived the end of the world, but you had no idea how it all happened? 20th Century Fox will be taking this interesting concept to the big screen as THR reports that director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) will be at the helm of Nocturne, a story about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position. Funnily enough, Fox doesn't even know how they got to that position because the studio is still in the process of hiring writers. Despite the lack of direction, this high concept seems like an apocalyptic Memento, and that sounds like all sorts of good fun.
Though the concept sounds intriguing, Wiseman hasn't exactly impressed me with any of his work. Live Free or Die Hard was a generic action movie disguised as a Die Hard movie,

Len Wiseman Gets Apocalyptic with ‘Nocturne’

Roland Emmerich isn't the only director thinking about the end of the world this year. According to THR, Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard directer Len Wiseman (aka Mr. Kate Beckensale) is also looking to put an end to humanity.
His pitch, titled Nocturne, has been picked up by 20th Century Fox. It is based on an original idea about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got through it. There is no script yet, but the studio is currently shopping the idea around to writers.
This makes for three projects in development for Wiseman, who is quickly becoming the next major director with everything to do, and no time to actually do it. After directing Live Free or Die Hard and producing this year's Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, he has had nothing actually get the go-ahead for production. He's

Len Wiseman Directing New Post-Apocalyptic Thriller, But What About 'Gears Of War'?

The prospect of Armageddon is one of the scarier notions facing humanity today — but apparently it's not as scary for movie studios based on an upcoming film from director Len Wiseman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Live Free or Die Hard" helmer is attached to produce and direct an untitled pitch — though the article's headline identifies the film's title as "Nocturne" — for 20th Century Fox. The film's plot centers on a handful of survivors following a wide-scale apocalyptic event and how each of them arrived at their current dilemma. Writers have yet to be hired.
With "2012" coming out this week and a prospective television follow-up to the film announced, it really does seem that post-apocalyptic narratives are all the rage in Hollywood these days. But I'm not here to lampoon Wiseman for his decision to join the bandwagon — instead, I want to know how this is going to effect "Gears of War.

Len Wiseman Is The Next Guy To End The World

Roland Emmerich seems to be trying to end apocalypse movies once and for all with 2012, in which he thoroughly destroys the world so badly that even the Himalayas get flooded. But 2009 has obviously been a banner year for depictions of our own demise, and that train isn't going to stop just because Emmerich says so. THR is reporting that Live Free or DIe Hard director Len Wiseman will next tackle mass destruction, directing an untitled pitch about survivors of the apocalypse who try to figure out just how they got there.
It doesn't sound all that unlike the 2012 TV sequel Emmerich has been talking up, but then again, when it comes to apocalypse stories, either everyone dies or some people survive and figure out what happens next. We have no more details on what Wiseman plans for this particular version of our demise, but if he he brings in the
