The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The female model's incidents.
This movie is a pioneer in China in that it challenges the traditional prejudice against modeling industry. According to traditional Confucian teaching, women are supposed wrapped and stay in home, and showing off to other men are not accepted. This rigid traditional teaching resulted in the prejudice against modeling industry in that models were viewed as sluts because they show off their skins to the public.
In the era of reform, the introduction of modeling industry caused big storms in the families of models, which is accurately depicted in this movie, and although the story itself is fake, identical incidents in real life did happen. This movie is worth the credit for crush such prejudice and denouncing the dross in the traditional Confucian teaching.
