Staunton Hill Coming to DVD

11 September 2009 5:24 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

While Papa George is out touring the world with Survival of the Dead, the younger Romero, Cameron, is set to make his filmmaking debut with Staunton Hill, which will be touching down soon courtesy of Anchor Bay.

Cameron Romero is clearly following in his father’s fearful footsteps as a master of terror and suspense. When a group of hikers take off for a weekend of fun and adventure in a remote mountain region, they unwittingly stumble across the Staunton family – for whom the hill is named – and find themselves at the mercy of a depraved, diabolical brood that will stop at nothing to rid their property of these “trespassers.”

Staunton Hill stars Kathy Lamkin (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, No Country for Old Men), Cristen Coppen (Road Trip, Art School Confidential), Kiko Ellsworth (“Heroes,” “Dexter”), and Cooper Huckabee (Space Cowboys, Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse).

Can Katherine Moennig ever shake Shane?

13 August 2009 9:32 AM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Through all of The L Word's ridiculous six seasons, Kate Moennig played Shane, the character that put butterflies in the tummies of men and women alike, gay, straight or otherwise. Hey. No use in deny it. We all felt it.

And watching this behind-the-scenes video of Three Rivers, it just seems like Shane decided to clean up her womanizing act and throw on some scrubs. There was a similar effect when Moennig played a small part in Art School Confidential. Is Moennig going to be able to convince viewers that Shane is in her past?Continue reading Can Katherine Moennig ever shake Shane?

Likely Story Chooses a Graphic Novel that is 'Too Cool to be Forgotten'

10 June 2009 | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

- Known for having great taste in film and for producing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Thumbsucker, Synecdoche, New York, and Nicole Holofcener's three last works, Anthony Bregman's Likely Story has (according to MTV's Splashpage via The Playlist) optioned the rights to Top Shelf Productions' Alex Robinson's graphic-novel "Too Cool To Be Forgotten." I can't think of too many independent film producers grabbing graphic novel properties - got to keep in mind this is Art School Confidential sort and not a tale spun with superheroes and super villains kind. Robinson seems to have a cult following or sorts that stems from his previous graphic novels titles Box Office Poison and Tricked.  The graphic novel which was released back in July of 2008, tells the story of a 40-year-old man who undergoes hypnosis therapy to quit smoking, only to wake up in the body of his 15-year-old self. Ezra Buzzington Takes in a Breath of Hate

8 June 2009 4:29 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Ezra Buzzington's name might not jump off of the page at you, but I can assure you you've been terrorized by him quite a few times in the past, whether it be from him flipping his cock around in Art School Confidential or playing a faceless mutant in The Hills Have Eyes remake. With his latest film Buzzington will be cranking up the terror once again!

From the press release:

"Velvet Hammer Films and ArsonCuff Entertainment have tapped Ezra Buzzington to play the lead in the upcoming Breath of Hate. Buzzington will collaborate, once again, with director Sean Cain (Silent Night, Zombie Night) in this Jack Ketchum-esque horror film.

The Wes Laurie penned script for Breath of Hate centers around a young woman in the escort business, who on her last job is confronted by a trio of escaped mental patients looking to change the world; one victim at a time. »
