What man under 30 has the stones to rock a black blazer over a black t-shirt? An internet mogul. This ain’t news to Justin Timberlake. Merely news to us, courtesy of The Daily Mail. What else is up with the coming Facebook movie (other than Timberkale perfectly embodying the “I’ll take your money, but I’ll never play by your rules” ethos), you ask?
Well, it’s called The Social Network and it’s being directed by David Fincher, who helmed Seven, Fight Club, The Game and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Today, we have the first official set pic from the film, featuring Timberlake embodying the look of the aforementioned mogul.
The Social Network is adapted from the book The Accidental Billionaires written by Ben Mezrich of Bringing Down the House fame. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, who created The West Wing and wrote A Few Good Men.

I'm not sure what the ratio pans out to be, but if Braden King and Spencer Susser see their feature debuts get an invitation, then they would have been filmmakers who once presented a calling card short film at the festival and return with a feature length debut. - I'm not sure what the ratio is, but if Braden King and Spencer Susser see their feature debuts get an invitation in 2010, then they would have been filmmakers who once presented a calling card short film at the festival and returned with a feature length debut.

Trailer - Ben Stiller in Noah Baumbach's 'Greenberg'

Noah Baumbach started out really well as a director with The Squid and the Whale, which he followed with the chalkboard-fingernailing Margot at the Wedding. But something good may have come from that experience: One of his actors from the film, Jennifer Jason Leigh, helped Baumbach put together the story for his new flick, Greenberg. It features an indie turn for Ben Stiller and explains why his been growing his hair out this year, which I'm sure is a load off your mind.
Stiller plays the title character, a guy who, at some point around 40, just decided to do nothing. That's different than someone who just does nothing with no purpose; Greenberg is actively passive. Wrap your head around that, why don't you. But through his nothingness, Greenberg starts to find his true calling, or at least something. Which is more than nothing.
The film co-stars Leigh, Rhys Ifans, and Greta Gerwig,

Noah Baumbach’s Greenberg Trailer Starring Ben Stiller

The Squid and the Whale director Noah Baumbach has a thing for selfish, disaffected and socially inept characters, and it looks like his latest film Greenberg will be no different. The movie stars Ben Stiller as Roger Greenberg, a middle-aged drifter who moves from New York to L.A. to house sit for his brother, and falls for his brother's personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig).
It's nice to see Stiller in a role that returns him from the world of frat pack comedies back to something a little smaller and more intimate, and there's a sense that this movie may be more optimistic than Baumbach's last film Margot at the Wedding (which I enjoyed, but I know a lot of people hated). The supporting cast also includes Rhys Ifans, Mark Duplass and Jennifer Jason Leigh, who is credited with co-writing the story. Baumbach himself also recently helped Wes Anderson out

Trailer For Greenberg

Focus Features have just released a trailer for Greenberg, the upcoming Noah Baumbach comedy drama starring Ben Stiller. The film also stars Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Greta Gerwig.
Baumbach, who shot to prominence with his first feature The Squid And The Whale, recently co-scripted Wes Anderson's stop motion Roald Dahl adaptation, Fantastic Mr. Fox. The distinctive Baumbach tone is still there with Greenberg yet it seems more optimistically upbeat than his last film, Margot At The Wedding. The story centres on Roger Greenberg, a dysfunctional 40-year-old who agrees to housesit for his younger brother in L.A. and is really keen to start doing nothing with his life. He begins seeing his brother's personal assistant Florence, a somewhat lost, aspiring singer, and following a series of abashedly uncomfortable romantic rendezvous with her, he starts to think he might have finally found someone who can appreciate him.

Ben Stiller is my love / hate actor. I love it when he plays wacky characters like in Dodgeball and Tropic Thunder, but hate him when he plays himself in, oh...every single one of his romantic comedies. So I'm curious as to how he'll be in his new film "Greenberg" directed by Noah Baumbach, who directed The Squid and the Whale and also wrote The Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. He's a great writer and I really liked Squid and the Whale so I'm actually looking forward to this one.Ben Stiller playes Roger Greenberg, a New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles in order to figure out his life while he housesits for his brother, and he soon sparks with his brother's assistant. The film also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh who wrote it as well.Check out the trailer below.

Noah Baumbach is an indie writer-director known for wry, literate, darkly comic arthouse meditations on Gen-x angst like Kicking & Screaming and The Squid and the Whale. Ben Stiller is ... Ben Stiller. What do you get when you put the two together? Judging from the just-released trailer for Greenberg, which opens in March, you get Stiller as a 40-something slacker who's at loose ends in his life and busying himself building a doghouse, writing angry letters to Starbucks, and fumbling into a romance with another lost soul (Greta Gerwig). We haven't seen Stiller go for this kind of minor-key, emotionally vulnerable

The first trailer for Noah Baumbach’s (The Squid and the Whale) latest film Greenberg has popped up online and I like that it’s difficult to pin down what the movie is about. It’s not that the tone is all over of the place and in general it looks like aimless-guy-learns-relationships-make-life-important, but there are so many little jokes and tiny moments that the movie looks bigger than such a simple premise. Also, Baumbach’s previous work (he also did Margot at the Wedding) supports that conclusion. And hey! Ben Stiller giving a real performance! Haven’t seen that in a long time.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and brief synopsis. Greenberg hits theaters on March 12, 2010.

Focus Features has released the first trailer for director Noah Baumbach's upcoming film Greenberg, which stars Ben Stiller as a jobless guy who doesn't really want to do anything with himself. The film also stars indie darling Greta Gerwig, who cut her teeth in such Duplass Brothers comedies as Baghead and Nights and Weekends, and appeared recently in Ti West's The House of the Devil. She's an incredibly talented actor (and writer/director) who has been ready for a role in something that really breaks. Here's hoping (for her sake) that this is it.
The trailer itself poses an interesting enough story, and one that feels a cousin to Baumbach's work in The Squid and the Whale and Margot at the Wedding. Although in fairness, it harkens back more to the theme of his first film, Kicking and Screaming, about men who refuse to move on with their lives after college. Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller Goes Indie in 'Greenberg' Trailer

The best thing about this trailer is that Mumblecore sensation Greta Gerwig has finally semi-crossed over into more "popular" fare (I can't say commercial, because this is still somewhat indie, so I guess "popular" is the right word ... but maybe not. You get the point, though, right?). The worst thing about this trailer is that it just feels like another lost-dude-looking-for-the-rest-of-his-life type flick, and I guess that's cool if you dig hip indie soundtracks and Ben Stiller with a perpetual puss on his face, but in my opinion there's nothing here that screams, "Holy crap, watch me right now!"
Yeah, so, anyway, the first trailer for Noah Baumbach's (The Squid and the Whale) next film, Greenberg, has just arrived over on Apple, and it stars Ben Stiller as a guy named Greenberg who's "at a crossroads in his life" and, after he agrees to housesit for his younger (and

Ben Stiller has gone indie. Focus Features has just debuted the official trailer for Noah Baumbach's newest film Greenberg starring Ben Stiller, Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Chris Messina, and Greta Gerwig. This looks like a huge improvement over Baumbach's last film, Margot at the Wedding, and a big departure for Stiller as well. I'm a fan of Baumbach primarily because I loved The Squid and the Whale and I've been waiting to see him direct another film on that level. While this is a comedy, it's hard to laugh at, but it's that honest, heartfelt "life sucks" kind of comedy that I think makes Baumbach's films so good. Anyway, enjoy!

It's Ben Stiller back to his serious roots.
In Greenberg, it's the typical story of a middle aged man trying to figure out his life. Within that decision he decides to do nothing. On a road to nowhere, Greenberg starts spending time with his Brother's assistant, Florence (Greta Gerwig) while sitting his home in Los Angeles. Florence is a bit of a lost soul herself, and finds a kinship with Greenberg.

Commercial director Carl Erik Rinsch is in advanced talks with Universal to direct 47 Ronin, a samurai saga starring Keanu Reeves set in pre-industrial Japan. Variety stated that the film is a "priority...large budget" project for Universal. It's an unusual move for them considering that they are entrusting the film to a first time feature director who's commercials tend to be on the technically intricate, technology themed side.
Wanted screenwriter Chris Morgan is scripting the project. He elucidated in blockbuster terminology saying "it's a great, Gladiator-esque, 300-like big action movie with samurai and ninja."
Morgan elaborated with MTV saying "It's a time in Japanese culture when it was all about [the] bushido [code] and honor, and putting internal things over external things . swords that were made to be functional instead of ornamental, that kind of stuff," Morgan had previously told MTV. "this turning point in the culture when that started to shift.

Blu-Ray Review: Annoying ‘The Answer Man’ Full of Hot Air

Chicago – “Hell is other people!” declares reclusive author Arlen Faber. That’s nothing compared to the hell of fake people, who permeate so many subpar pictures marketed as “indie” entertainment. There’s not a single character in “The Answer Man” that feels the least bit realistic. There’s not a single line of dialogue that sounds as if it was spontaneously spoken, instead of typed by a screenwriter with a slick Thesaurus. But most importantly, the film doesn’t work because its characters are simply undeserving of the required audience empathy. It’s impossible to care about anyone on the screen, or anything that happens to them.
Blu-Ray Rating: 2.0/5.0
So why is this film a mediocre dud rather than a catastrophic failure? Because it is populated by gifted actors who try to inject the contrived material with vibrant life. Jeff Daniels is one of the most appealing actors in modern cinema,
