His days of singing solo to his baby girl are long gone; Matthew Settle and Aven Angelica now share father-daughter duets! “I just bought her a piano,” he tells Ok! “I play guitar and she sits at the piano and bangs on it. That’s pretty fun.”

Robson Green jumps into the Tyne and almost freezes. Is he really a Geordie, asks Sam Wollaston
In his last TV outing, Robson Green wanted to catch fish. In this one, Robson Green's Wild Swimming Adventure (ITV1), he wants to be one. He's swimming across the country's rivers and lakes, lidos, tidal pools and the sea.
It doesn't begin well. He wants to start close to home, so, being a Geordie, he jumps into the Tyne. Howay the lads! But it's flipping freezing, and after just a few strokes his body begins to shut down. He's quickly rescued by some men in a lifeboat and wrapped in tin foil. You'd have thought they'd do him in batter up there.
Is he sure he's a Geordie? I thought they were always toppling off the Tyne Bridge after a few (26) pints on a Friday evening in December, waking up on the »

Martin Freeman made his name in the The Office as the lovely Tim. Now he's playing another nice bloke in Nativity! So why is he so defensive about being typecast?
Martin Freeman is sitting opposite me in a London hotel, and he's being charming. He's already offered to fetch me some refreshments ("Well, if you were in my kitchen I'd get you a drink") and is responding to my questions with vigour, practically bouncing out of his chair as he talks.
We meet during his promotional tour for the film Nativity! It's billed as a "heartwarming and hilarious tale of the true meaning of Christmas" but don't worry – it's better than it sounds. Freeman plays Mr Maddens, a frustrated and frayed teacher at a bog-standard primary school who finds love, joy and personal redemption through directing the school nativity play. As you may expect, there are sing-along songs and cute »

‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ actor feels a “deep connection” with canines and if he was to swap from being a human, would want to become a domesticated four legged pet. When asked what he would like to become, he said: “I think I’d be a dog. The lifestyle of a dog has always fascinated me: You sleep, sit around, get stroked, eat and get walked from time to time. That’s great! “There is a deep connection between me and dogs.” If he couldn’t completely transform himself physically and had to settle with getting a different job, Robert, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movie franchise, would like to be a music producer. He said: “Being a music producer would be the perfect job for me. Or I would like to write. “In any case it would be something creative. Perhaps also a stockbroker. I like everything that is hectic. »

In J. Alexander's new book, "Follow the Model," he looks back on his career in the fashion industry working as a model, "America's Next Top Model" judge and runway coach. So, with everything that he's accomplished, how does "Miss J" keep his career fresh? Well, he embraces the crazy.
"Look at me at panel," he said of "America's Next Top Model." "I look crazy, don't I? That's how I keep it fresh. I mean, I'm battling Nigel [Barker]'s good looks. Jay Manuel's prettiness, cause he's so pretty. And Tyra Bank's is just drag. She's just larger, larger than life. So I'm just competing with myself, basically."
(At press time, rumors were still floating around that J. Alexander would not »

Channing Tatum himself tweeted news this morning of the first trailer for Dear John, his inaugural entry into the world of heart-tugging, lady-ready, three-hanky multiplex romance. More than a transparent gesture of self-promotion, however, the message signaled an implicit gesture of pride announcing Tatum's arrival just beyond your expectations. It wasn't "Look at me" so much as "Look at this": Love! Drama! Sex! Tension! War! Tears! More tears! What the hell is the dude from Step Up and G.I. Joe doing here? A lot, as it turns out. »

Welcome to Gore Girls! MTV contributor Terri Schwartz doesn't know crap about the horror genre, and she's volunteered to be our Movies Blog guinea pig. She has a good guide too. Fellow contributor Jenni Miller is a bonafide horror enthusiast, and she's willing to walk Terri through her formative experiences with blood, guts, monsters and maniacs. Together, this dynamic duo are horror's own odd couple, The Gore Girls!!! Good luck Terri... you're definitely going to need it.
This week, Gore Girls Jenni and Terri decided to tackle director Kevin Tenney's "Night of the Demons." This 1988 horror flick -- a fertile time for the genre, depending on your tastes -- plays like cautionary tale for those who would rather avoid entanglements with the underworld. On Halloween night, 10 teens decide it would be a good idea to stage a seance in an abandoned funeral parlor which happens to be built on cursed ground. »

A lot of my friends and relatives don't understand why I'm just as obsessed with Cougar Town as I am with its time-slot companion Modern Family, but perhaps the following "Jules gets wasted with her younger pals" slide show -- set to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" (a song I will never grow tired of) -- will convert some of you doubting Thomases. Sure, the whole setup is an homage to summer smash The Hangover, but since last night's episode focused on Jules' whopper of a post-bacchanal headache, it was totes apprope. (Look at me adopting the youthspeak!) Seriously, though, how can »

While Wednesday night's episode of Modern Family is titled "The Bicycle Thief", the storyline for gay dads Cameron and Mitchell might be better titled "Anything Your Baby Can Do, Ours Can Do Better."
***Warning*** Spoilers!
The plot revolves around Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) taking Lily to a "Mommy and Me" class where it turns out they aren't the only gay dads attending.
Also present are Anton and Scott along with their baby Chauncey who, much to Mitchell's chagrin, seem to do everything a little better than they do. Indeed, while Lily comes from Vietnam, Chauncey is from Sudan because "...the situation in Darfur right now is just horrific."
They are also much better "dancers" not having any inhibitions when it's their turn to dance with with Chauncey.
Anton, Scott and Chauncey are also very popular with the other mothers, so much so that »

Whenever someone asks me what my favorite DVD special feature is, I always pick audio commentary. But from talking with other cinephiles and casual film fans alike, I've begun to feel like I'm in the minority. I hear the same complaints, over and over, about filmmaker tracks: they're boring, they're uninformative, and so on. To which I always reply, you don't like them because you're not listening to the right ones.
There are plenty of bad commentary tracks out there, but there are plenty of bad movies out there too; the trick is to find the good ones. From my highly subjective perspective, here are the rules that govern all great DVD commentary tracks.
1. Don't Just Tell Us What's Happening on the Screen
Just about the worst thing you can do on a commentary track is simply reiterate what the audience is seeing. Thankfully, it's not an especially common phenomenon nowadays, »

What's the state of the funny business? Despite what you might read, it's quite good.
Christina Davidson at TheAtlantic.com is on a recession road trip (fun!), and this week, she stopped into a comedy club in Kansas City to check on the state of the funny business. She finds the Stanford and Sons Comedy Club hunkered down, having been "steeled in survivor mode for most of the past decade." Thankfully, dear reader, she discovers the following nugget of wisdom:
The recession has caused the most lingering downturn in business, but the difference now is that people still want to laugh. In fact, they need to laugh. They just can't afford to go out and spend too much money.
But seriously, folks. This tired canard resurfaces whenever a comedy tourist writes about the business. And it's something that would never happen in any other industry. Imagine The Atlantic making such pronouncements about the recession, »

It's The Best.Gay.Week.Ever! But In Designer Clothes!
Oh, the irony of having me write a fashion-themed Bgwe! Why so ironic? How about because it's 5 Pm and I'm currently wearing Target slippers, Target lounge pants and a ratty sweathshirt. Did I mention these are my good clothes?
Not fair! I actually shower every single day! Mostly...
Why the sudden interest in fashion? Well, there was Fashion Week having taken place last week in New York and the Oscars in L.A. on Sunday, but I was really inspired by last week's episode of Ugly Betty which ended with Betty finally "getting" that fashion isn't just about expensive clothes but is actually "art" and about taking what's on the inside emotionally, spiritually, etc. and putting it on the outside.
I guess she's feeling wing-y on the inside?
I found that an interesting way to look at fashion and thusly »
