Oliver Twist (2005) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

No actual sex or nudity is depicted other than the bare back of one character in one scene and cleavage of women. There is a scene with women who may have been characterized as prostitutes, but there is no sexual activity or reference shown.

Violence & Gore

There is some moderate violence, including stick beatings and characters taking blows to the face. The violent scenes between Jamie Foreman(Bill) and Leanne Rowe (Nancy) are particular moderate in that Nancy is hit in face hard and thrown to the floor by her hair. There is one scene where it is implied she is beaten to death with a stick but she is hidden from shot so the viewer does not see her receiving the blows. However, a splash a blood from the bleeding and a pool of blood on the door implies that the beating is brutal. The beatings however don't dwell on detail at all. There is one scene where the main character is shot in the arm and although we get a brief view of the wound, there is no detail, although blood is shown around the wound from where he has bled.

Profanity

No modern profanity exits.

People are shown drinking and smoking in one scene. It is implied that the youngsters imbibe gin with their water.

There are some instances of mild and moderate threat, mainly from Jamie Foreman's Bill Sykes, which can be quite intense. There is also a sustained period of mild peril towards the end of the film when two characters plot to kill Barney Clark's Oliver. For example, Bill at one point threatens Oilver with a gun. Some of the moderate violence is quite intense. There are also occasional instances of Moderate Menace.
