  • Anachronisms: When Jin-tae brings Jin-seok a Hershey bar, the nutritional information on the back (not required until the 1990s) can clearly be seen. Not only that - it's a king-size Hershey bar, which wasn't introduced until 1980.

  • Continuity: When Jin-tae fights the North Korean captain, the car behind them alternates between being on fire and not being on fire.

  • Anachronisms: A modern Canadian flag can be seen at the Military Hospital in Daejun among a group of other flags. The scene in the movie is dated July 1951, but the modern Canadian flag was introduced in 1965.

  • Anachronisms: When Jin Tae and Jin Seok are drafted, a band is playing as the newly conscripted soldiers board the train. One of the band members is playing a Ludwig bass drum, but the logo on the drum is the modern Ludwig logo which was not introduced until the 1970s.

  • Anachronisms: When Jin-Tae receives his medal after the Americans arrive, modern 50 star American flags are shown. In the early 50's the flag still would have been 48 stars. It wasn't until 1959 that the current 50 star flag was introduced.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Near the end, when Jin-Seok spots Jin-Tae fighting as a North Korean, Jin-Tae is clearly seen with a helmet on but when Jin-Tae and Jin-Soek are fighting, Jin-Tae is wearing a military cap.

  • Factual errors: In the scene where North Korean soldiers ambush Jin Tae and several other South Korean soldiers while they're laying mines, one of the South Koreans steps on a mine and it blows his leg off. However, the M15 Anti-tank mine, which was the mine they were using, requires a force of 350 to 750 lbs to detonate.

  • Revealing mistakes: During one of the scenes in Pyongyang when American tanks are driving through the crowd, a rectangular hole for the driver to look through can be seen in the front hull of an Easy Eight, where it is not located.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the scene where the South Koreans are retreating from the Chinese, one of the POWs takes a pistol from an injured soldier, shooting him twice. When he shoots the soldier a second time, the sound of the gunshot is out of sync with the slide kicking back (Just before it shows the soldier getting shot, you can clearly see the slide is back, but the gunshot is heard a few seconds later).

  • Factual errors: During the South Korean celebration after their victory in the recent battle. They are informed that UN Forces had successfully landed at Incheon. While the soldier's yell and celebrate waves of jet fighters fly over head. You can clearly see the swept wing design of the US F-86 Sabre, only the F-86 was not sent to Korea until December 1950. The landing at Incheon took place in September, 1950.
