Eva Mendes was featured in Will Smith's "Miami" video. She was the girl in the car lip-syncing "Bienvenido a Miami." When Mendes mentioned it to Smith during rehearsals, Smith sheepishly admitted that he did not remember her. See more »
In the opening scene, Hitch explains to the first 3 men he's helping that the third date with a girl is the most important because that's the date where they'll have their first kiss. Basic principles: no woman wakes up saying, "God, I hope I don't get swept off my feet today!" Now, she might say, "This is a really bad time for me," or something like, "I just need some space," or my personal favorite, "I'm really into my career right now." You believe that? Neither does she. You know why? Because she's lying to you, that's why. You understand me? Lying! It's not a bad time for her. She doesn't need any space. I expected a good movie. What I got was an even better movie. The chemistry between James and Smith is just incredible. Glad to see him in a major motion picture for once!
The movie works, because the actors play their parts perfectly. Will Smith is fantastic with his never ending charm; Kevin James is hilarious, and Eva Mendes...well, let's just say she plays that bitch/sweet/annoying role to the best of her ability.
What I loved about the movie was the fact that Will Smith didn't even have to try to be lovable. He just was!! The "date doctor" had all the right moves, said everything in the most perfect of ways, and never ever went over the top.
The funny parts are hilarious...and the cute, romantic parts are unforgettable.
I totally recommend this movie. And no, it is not a chick flick.
