Trivia:
Three gangs were created which didn't make it into the game: the Clowns, the Lost, and the Jury. The Clowns dressed as their name suggested, the Lost dressed in scavenged metal, and the Jury dressed in hockey masks. The hockey mask design eventually went to the Skinz gang. The Clowns were given a back story which gave them obvious similarities to serial killer John Wayne Gacy, including an advocate who shared Gacy's surname. more

Too much violence, 9 November 2007
7/10

I don't mind violent video games, but Manhunt is too much for me.

Manhunt is a game where you can play a convicted villain James Earl Cash, who is the main character in the bizarre and sick game, directer by crazy movie producer Starkweather. Basically, the whole point of the game is moving from one place to another in the fictional Carcer City and killing a lot of enemies. You must make a brutal executions of every enemy you meet. The longer you hold the action button, the more brutal the execution will be. So in some way this game is encouraging a player to perform brutal deaths in goriest way possible.

The problem with this game is actually the violence. There is just too much violence in the game and from time to time I wondered, what the hell am I killing so many people. After some hours of playing Manhunt I was just bored, because I was doing the same thing over and over again. Using stealth, hiding behind the shadows and kill an enemy. The big problem is also the main character, because he's not very resistant to bullets. In shooting scenes you will die just after two shots with the gun, but the enemies will die when you shoot the whole damn bullets towards them. I don't like games, where the enemies are much more stronger and resistant that the main character.

The graphics are good and the story is quite interesting from the beginning, but when you pass this, there is nothing to do in Manhunt. Just killing a lot of enemies in 1001 ways possible. The levels are all the same, so the game becomes repetitive after a while.

I've never finished this game, because I stopped playing it after a few hours. I was just sick of the violence all the time.
