Very disturbing, 18 April 2005
Author: diabolic213 from United States
This has to be the most disturbing collection of music videos ever. All the videos were directed by Jim Van Bebber of "Deadbeat By Dawn" fame. The videos have to be disturbing though because the music is terrible. It doesn't hold a candle to quality death metal like Cannibal Corpse or Mortician. But the visuals more then make up.We see a dead woman skinned and then masturbated on by the drummer, guitarist Phil Anselmo get his hand eaten by a zombie,a gorgeous nun given acid and then molested by a cult,a psycho decapitate a man while his naked girlfriend watches, and finally a song about the Lucio Fulci classic The Beyond with scenes from the film inserted in the video. This final video is also a special feature on Anchor Bay's DVD of the Beyond and the least offensive video in the collection. The makeup effects are gruesomely realistic, especially in the first video where the dead woman is skinned. You also get to hear the band members drunkenly ramble about how they think Amityville 2 is better then the first(which I totally agree with) and how Russ Tamblyn isn't a very good actor. So the music sucks but the videos are awesome, just be prepared to be disturbed.

Gory Videos, Gory Music, 25 September 2005
Author: sob42081 from Boston, Ma
Directed by Jim Van Bebber, Necrophagia's music video collection lives up to the disturbing nature of both artists' visions. The style of the videos is more like 70s and 80s shock exploitation, than of MTV flash. One of videos is comprised of footage from Jim Van Bebber's Roadkill. The music is not death/black/hardcore/thrash, but a grating, discordant screech of feedback and snarls over a pummeling, sloppy rhythm. Saying they are better or worse than Cannibal Corpse or Mortician (that one made me laugh out loud) is moot. Its like going to see one the above mentioned bands, and have taken wrong turn and ended up a Texas Chainsaw family barbecue! Outside the box. BTW, nowadays they don't do the same thing at all, contributed to member changes. They still project horrific imagery through their music, but more like a John Carpenter nightmare, than their previous Fulci-nightmare. This video is the best collection of their work to date. Jim Van Bebber is an amazing horror director, hopefully he will never break out. For his own good, that is. Buy this disc; break into your mom's stash; get your older brother to buy you beer, and get sick on this film.

brutality vs mindless metal, 30 September 2005
Author: proci85 from Hungary
*** This review may contain spoilers ***
well... if you mind brutality, don't watch this. but, only gore makes a film not better than it is. the music is as bad as it gets, brainless metal without an idea. so music is 1/10. the videos are going after clichés. raping a nun is funny, but is that really that fascinating? you can see s/m porno with nuns on the net, so nothing interesting here. if you want something with a good plot, try "die heilige Hure" the first video isn't interesting too, and the beginning with the pistol is a copy from natural born killers. i drink alcohol, I'm bad, i have a gun, and I'm skinning. cool, huh? i think its not. the other films aren't better too... i think violence can used to create art (see "a clockwork orange"), but this is no art. so, the videos become 3/10, because of their realistic look. if you want something brutal to watch, try some Italian horror, like cannibal holocaust or cannibal ferox. and avoid this. and if you like quality metal, avoid this from great distance.
