Violent yet hilarious short movie about an army platoon that can't seem to execute a prisoner no matter how hard they try. They guy breathes through multiple shootouts and even survives an explosion. This short, directed by the Dutch Jan Kounen, was initially meant to be a long-feature film but it never got finished. Yet, in only 13 minutes of playtime, Kounen already proves himself gifted director with a clear eye for style. The whole thing is filmed from the viewpoint of the convict, which results in some impressive sequences. The soldiers appear to be aggressive but, despite the hectic gunfights and hysterical shouting, this is quite a comical little movie that makes you wonder how cool it must have been to see a full length film revolving on this premise. Especially the guy who plays the platoon leader is a real hoot. Magnificent short movie!
