Actress Rosario Dawson is taking a career break this autumn so she can travel across America convincing the Latin community to vote in November's presidential election.
The Sin City star, who is of Puerto Rican and Cuban, was in Washington D.C. on Tuesday speaking on behalf of her non-profit organisation Voto Latino.
And she reveals she'll set acting to one side later this year to make sure everyone who is eligible to vote, does.
Dawson's road trip will include stops at both the Republican and Democratic conventions.
The 28-year-old star, who has movies Eagle Eye and Seven Pounds set for release around the time of the election, says, "I decided I'm not going to be working at all through the fall (autumn).
"We're targeting the Latin youth vote. There's 18 million (people who) are eligible but we are not showing that up in votes. So our numbers aren't counting."

Vegas, baby! Even the city's airport is a gaudy slice of neon depravity.
Everywhere you look are slot machines, even in the bathroom. I'm sorry, but I already have my hands around a one-armed bandit. Don't need sirens and bells going off while I'm peeing. Anyway, it was around one in the afternoon, and Debi and I had just gotten to Sin City for our set visit to the new creature feature Dark Moon Rising, starring Max Ryan, Maria Conchita Alonso, Chris Mulkey, and Billy Drago; genre royalty extraordinaire Sid Haig and Lin Shaye; and newcomers Ginny Weirick and Chris Divecchio. From the second we were picked up from the airport, we knew there was going to be some mayhem afoot.
It was a two-hour ride out to the set in Beatty, Nevada. A little town nestled right between Death Valley and Area 51. If we got bored, we could always

We first told you about Albert Pyun's new film Road to Hell right here a few weeks ago, including a look at the poster. Today comes a sneak peek of a rough composite shot from the film.
Click the image to the right for the full version, which shows a bloody meeting between serial killer Cody (Michael Pare) and spree killer Caitlin (Clare Kramer). Again, it's still rough and only a preliminary look at the finished product, but color me intrigued! According to Pyun, Road to Hell was shot entirely on green screen, which backs up some of the comparisons to Sin City our readers made upon seeing the early artwork. In any event, editing is done; now it's on to the compositing.
Still waiting to hear from the filmmakers about a release date, distribution, etc., and once we do, we'll be sure to pass on the news. In the meantime,

In the mere decade he's been filling movie screens, 30-year-old actor Josh Hartnett has already worked in both mega-budget studio flicks ("Pearl Harbor," "Hollywood Homicide") and with auteurs like Sofia Coppola ("The Virgin Suicides"), Robert Rodriguez ("The Faculty," "Sin City") and Brian De Palma ("The Black Dahlia"). Maintaining his stance with one foot in Hollywood, the other currently leaning more heavily in Indiewood, Hartnett's latest . which he also co-produced . is a time warp back to New York during the summer of 2001. Only marginally a pre-9/11 film, director Austin Chick's "August" is an implosive study in hubris set against the backdrop of the dot-com economic meltdown. Hartnett plays Tom Sterling, a narcissistic millionaire CEO who is far more concerned with his materialistic rock star image than he is for Landshark, the sinking ship of a company that he began with his brother Joshua (Adam Scott). Hartnett chatted with me about the film,

Trippy. That's about the best word I can use to describe a leaked trailer for The Spirit that came into the possession of Trailer Addict earlier today. Lots of black, white, and red from Frank Miller, who after co-directed Sin City with Robert Rodriguez, is going it alone behind the camera this time for a long overdue film version of the Will Eisner comic.
I don't know that I'd call this a great trailer, but it's still an early one. I'm sure they'll get better in the coming months. Hate the music, though. Doesn't seem to fit.
Dark and full of hot, hot babes, The Spirit hits theaters this Christmas.

Robert Rodriguez and his girlfriend Rose McGowan are teaming up for a big action movie and this one's not Barbarella. The Sin City co-director and his current muse will remake Red Sonja, based on the Robert Howard character turned into a disastrous film version back in 1985. That one starred Brigitte Nielsen, who, like McGowan, gives off a certain "I'll kick your ass" vibe.
"Rose is a pistol. She's whip-smart, has attitude to burn, is sexy, extremely strong, yet has a vulnerable side that would surprise her closest friends. That description also fits Red Sonja," Rodriguez told USA Today. The only thing is...were we really crying out for Red Sonja to be remade? I think Rodriguez had the same trepidation until he saw the screenplay.
"I was surprised when Rose brought me a script of Red Sonja that she liked. I found it very entertaining." Added Rodriguez, "Sonja was strong,

Frank Miller's The Spirit just got more interesting...again.
Yahoo! Movies has been slowly debuting new character posters for the graphic novel adaptation, and we've already seen Eva Mendes as Sand Serif and Scarlett Johansson as Silken Floss. Now we have two new posters, one featuring Jaime King, certainly memorable in Sin City, as Lorelei, and Sarah Paulson as Ellen Dolan.
Oh...and these posters talk. Seriously. Mouse over any of the girls to hear them read the quote on the poster, or move your mouse all over the place for a seductive yet completely nonsensical conversation.
Oh...that Spirit keeps getting stronger, doesn't it?
