Ann-Margret, Hallowed Be Thy Mane

So considerate of AMC to precede Mad Men with Firewall, which ends with a violent brawl that leaves the bad guy with a pick in his back and Harrison Ford ever so worse for wear. A real table-setter, that, if you have any frozen carcasses that need pounding. Ann-Margret! Just the jolt of adrenaline this opening needs. To Peggy: "You're not fat anymore." A remark that verges upon the personal, to quote Bertie Wooster. Betty is certainly looking frilly. Lots of references in this episode: Ada Louise Huxtable is not a name often bandied about in scripts. Hey, that Oed set! I used to have one of those. (Note to self: Focus on foreground.)

Renee Zellweger's 'My One and Only' Gets a Trailer

Releasing on August 21 is the under-the-radar feature My One and Only from Freestyle Releasing starring Renee Zellweger and Kevin Bacon with Richard Loncraine (Wimbledon) directing. Of course, the fact Loncraine is directing doesn't immediately turn our eye to the film itself as both Wimbledon and Firewall weren't exactly the epitome of filmmaking (although I didn't mind Firewall as much as some others did). However, Zellweger has become synonymous with the Oscar hunt and this is her only chance in 2009.
Personally the film looks a bit too cheesy to me and the narration pretty much closes the door on my interest as it basically sells the film as generic schlock, but that's just me.
Give the trailer a watch below or head over to Yahoo for the high definiton version.

Julianne Moore has dropped out of the HBO Films/BBC Films movie The Special Relationship because of a scheduling conflict with the comedy The Kids Are Alright. The actress, who was slated to play Hilary Clinton, has been replaced by Hope Davis (American Splendor, Synecdoche, New York).
Moore’s departure comes only a couple of weeks after screenwriter Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) dropped out of directing the film. Morgan, who penned the screenplay and will still be involved as a producer, was replaced by Richard Loncraine (Firewall, Wimbledon). The film would have marked Morgan’s directorial debut.
Special Relationship chronicles the unique and sometimes turbulent political relationship between newly installed British Prime Minister Tony Blair and U.S. President Bill Clinton in the late 1990s.

Peter Morgan has dropped out of directing the HBO Films/BBC Films movie The Special Relationship, which would have been his third film to feature British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Richard Loncraine, whose credits include Firewall and Wimbledon, has signed on to replace him.
The film will follow unique and sometimes turbulent political relationship between newly installed British Prime Minister Tony Blair and U.S. President Bill Clinton in the late 1990s. Dennis Quaid is set to play Clinton and Michael Sheen will play Blair. Julianne Moore and Helen McCrory will play spouses Hillary Clinton and Cherie Blair, respectively.
Sheen, whose recent credits include Frost/Nixon and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, played Blair in the Morgan-scripted The Deal and The Queen. Order of Chaos was first discovered by us film news connoisseurs when that well oiled poster you see to the right dropped just a few months back. Back then, no one really knew what the film was about except that it was written and directed on a modest 1 million dollar budget by actor Vince Vieluf (Hysteria, Firewall). We were all dying to see traierage, and now we have it for ya!
Synopsis:
John Pulliti is the new all American apple pie. Almost rich, almost thirty, he never lies or cheats. When his beautiful fiancé orders him around and his ball-busting boss uses threats as motivation, John never makes a sound. Eager to do right, he is a perpetual “yes man”.
Rick Carlson is not. A smooth talking, coercive “no man”, Rick turns John’s life upside-down when he not only moves into his building, but starts working at his competitive law firm.

Bettany a Obsessed Man of the Cloth in 'Priest'

One thing has been consistently true about Paul Bettany: He makes movies better. He doesn't
always make the best decisions in terms of the quality of films, but whether it's A Knight's Tale or Da
Vinci Code or Firewall, Bettany is generally at least as interesting as his surroundings. That's
especially good news with the project shows as much promise as Priest.
The film is described by The Hollywood Reporter as a "horror western" Screen Gems is developing based on
the TokyoPop comic of the same name. He would play a warrior priest who turns his back on his church to hunt down
the vampires how kidnapped his niece. So there are elements of The Searchers here...but with vampires and
religious overtones.

Richard Loncraine to helm 'Perfect Margarita'

Richard Loncraine is ready to produce and direct "The Perfect Margarita."
Written by Geoff Deane, the film follows a New York marriage counselor who leads a messy life. While his best friend is trying hard to help him find a girlfriend, he suddenly realizes he feels more for her than he thought.
Loncraine told Variety the project will be a feel-good movie because he thinks people are not looking for dark films and unhappy endings in times of a troubled economy.
Loncraine also directed the decent romance "Wimbledon," which starred Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. He followed up with 2006's disappointing thriller "Firewall."
"My One and Only," Loncraine's latest comedy with Renee Zellweger, Nick Stahl and Kevin Bacon, is currently competing at the Berlin Film Festival.
