Continuity: When Evan is talking to his wife on the ark after the rain, the deck is wet but the top of the wooden rail around the bow of the ark is dry.
Continuity: When Congressman Baxter is driving his Hummer after the bird incident, his windshield switches from clean to dirty many times.
Factual errors: The area code for the phone number on Eve Adams's real estate signs is 804, which is the area code for Richmond, some two hours away from Washington, D.C. Northern Virginia's area code is actually 703.
Errors in geography: The Northern Virginia suburbs, though hilly in some places, are not mountainous as portrayed in the film.
Continuity: When Evan speaks with God after the birds have alighted on and flown off his shoulders, claw marks on his suit's back disappear and reappear continuously.
Factual errors: When Evan is in his office surrounded by birds, behind him are two blue peacocks. Male peacocks are blue, the female peacock (called a peahen) is brown.
Factual errors: Members of Congress park in a garage, not outside.
Factual errors: Members of Congress still have regular license plates on their personal vehicle. They usually place their Congressional plates on the dash as they change vehicles.
Factual errors: Members of Congress' offices are not that huge and their staff is not that large.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Evan asks for unleavened bread and his wife hands him a Pita Bread. Pita is not considered unleavened bread.
Revealing mistakes: The license plates of the cars are California plates, but the movie takes place in Virgina.
Continuity: Just before the boy says "Dad,we can do this..." a blue car is driving on the road behind Evan. In another angle, as Evan sits down, the car has disappeared. In the shot of the children after Evan says "we need something to lift those beams" the car appears again on the left side of screen. (widescreen version only)
Factual errors: In the movie's opening scene, Evan Baxter anchors one more newscast before leaving for his new job as a U.S. Congressman. In reality, Baxter would have to resign as a news anchor prior to launching his campaign, or the TV station would have to provide free equal time to his opponents as required by Federal law.
Continuity: During the flood Baxter's staff appears and disappears from scene to scene. In general any view from the front shows him without the staff, while any view from behind shows him with the staff.
