Who needs critics? Who needs experts? Since the dawn of the internet and the democratization of entertainment, who really needs someone to tell them what is good and what is not good? Clearly, the people who made up the list of nominees below -- the 18 million voters of the People's Choice Awards -- need some assistance. It is sad -- void of great drama such as Mad Men and full of teenie-bopper schlock like Twilight -- but also triumphant, as it makes me feel great about my own job security. Thank you America, for once again proving that you need me. The 2009 People's Choice Awards will air on January 6, 2010 on CBS. For more, including all of the music nominations, check out People's Choice.com. All of the television, film and web-related categories are below. Megan Fox Gets Inspiration From Her Marilyn Monroe Tattoo

22 hours ago | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

Megan Fox gets inspiration from her Marilyn Monroe tattoo. The "Transformers" beauty has an etching of the legendary sex symbol on her forearm and says looking at it gives her the attitude needed to make it in the movie world.

She said: "I really admire Marilyn Monroe but I would never try to emulate her. I got the tattoo as a warning. It warns me not to let myself be treated so badly by the film industry so that it breaks me down."

Megan - who is often voted the world's sexiest woman - also said she experiences sexism on movie sets and is judged just because she is a woman.

She added to Germany's Bunte magazine: "I don't feel I'm treated equally. If you are a woman and arrive on the set and you are introverted - because you are shy or self conscious - and you don't embrace »

Bradley Cooper Enters the "Dark Fields"

8 November 2009 1:16 AM, PST | Reel Empire | See recent Reel Empire news »

It was recently announced that Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Alias, Midnight Meat Train) will be headlining Relativity Media and Rogue Picture's thriller titled "Dark Fields". Cooper has replaced "Transformers" star Shia Labeouf according to reports. The movie is based on a book of the same name by author Alan Glynn. Neil Burger will be directing the picture from a script written by Leslie Dixon (The Thomas Crown Affair). The premise is rather strange and I should be surprised that Bradley Cooper would headline a flick like this after moving to A-list status after the unexpected sucess of "The Hangover". Then again, he did star in "Midnight Meat Train" thus anything's possible. Read on to see what the movie is about.

Megan Fox doesn't notice people finding her attractive. The 'Transformers' star - who is regularly voted among the world's sexiest actresses - claims she leads too much of a quiet life with on/off boyfriend Brian Austin Green to notice other people's responses to her appearance. She said: "I don't really experience it because I've been in the same relationships forever. "I stay at home most of the time, but I guess I'm not complaining. Nobody in their right mind would complain. It's great." Star Trek (2009) Blu-ray Review

6 November 2009 10:56 PM, PST | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Space. The Final Frontier. A place few were willing to venture with the last two Star Trek: The Next Generation helmed films. On virtual life support, J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot collaborators reinvented the iconic franchise into something hardened Star Trek fans and casual moviegoers without an ounce of prior interest in the series could equally digest and enjoy. His efforts carried Star Trek into a new frontier of success and riches at the 2009 box office, to a place where Paramount's treatment of the Blu-ray Disc release should . and marvelously does - fall into the esteemed category of exemplary.

Star Trek's reboot begins with a huge bang, a knockout prologue that chronicles the birth of James T. Kirk and the death of his father, a Starship Captain (for twelve minutes), all during a surprise attack by a renegade Romulan Nero (Eric Bana). Flash forward a quarter of a »

The Men Who Stare At Goats Review

6 November 2009 6:52 PM, PST | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

Seven out of ten times, I’m going to come out enjoying a film that operates on its own terms. It’s the first and best thing I can say about Michael Mann, which just adds to my fanboy nature when it comes to his work. As a more recent example, the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man just acts as its own entity from beginning to end, and never makes any apologies for it. While not as brilliant or as great as that picture, The Men Who Stare at Goats is that kid we all knew in high school. You’re not really sure who he is or what he’s about, but you know that when you spend time with him, you’re going to be entertained.

So why won’t this appeal to the masses? Very simply because of the script, which goes off the rails midway through the picture. »

Micronauts the Movie? J.J. Abrams? Wth?

6 November 2009 9:11 AM, PST | SciFiCool.com | See recent SciFiCool.com news »

The Wall Street Journal, of all places, currently has an article on Hollywood’s gold rush to make movies out of toys and board games following the phenomenal success of Michael Bay’s “Transformers”. Toward the end of the article, it mentions that “Star Trek’s” (and “Lost” mastermind) J.J. Abrams is currently in discussions to produce a movie based on the Japanese toy line Micronauts, which, coincidentally, Hasbro (the same people behind “Transformers”) has just acquired. Opines Abrams: “Sometimes, when someone is not a celebrity and you are casting them in a role, everyone who is in a seat of authority voices questions about that actor’s talent, sex appeal, looks, ability — their everything. But then they get the role, and suddenly they are on the cover of every magazine, and nobody questions those things again. In retrospect, everyone says, ‘Of course that person is a star.’” I don »

eBay find: Megan Fox's bloody gloves from Jennifer's Body

6 November 2009 7:45 AM, PST | Boxwish.com | See recent BoxWish news »

However trendy the goth girl look is right now, clothes covered in blood are seriously unlikely to catch on with the mainstream. Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) championed the look back in the 1976 Stephen King horror and it didn’t work then, however that hasn’t deterred Megan Fox from having a go, the Transformers actress getting a blood bath in new comedy/ horror, Jennifer’s Body. Not that she’s an innocent bystander in all the bloodshed, nope, Fox’s Jennifer is the one causing it all and she wears the results of her carnage with pride, her prom dress outfit getting well and truly trashed. And we’ve spotted the blood-spattered opera gloves she wears with this outfit for auction online, making them week’s eBay find. »
