Currently unknown. It had been verified that several of the actors had signed up for a sequel - but due to the film's critical response, the likelihood of a sequel is unknown. It has been disputed, that a 'Doom 2' may be considered after the release of the latest video game sequel, 'Doom 4'.

Whilst some of the creatures in the film look like their counter-parts, in Doom 3, there is no direct reference to Hell or alternative dimensions. The creatures were explained to be genetically mutated humans, due to an injection of a 24th Chromosome.
