Tyler Bates to score Deadpool 2

With Junkie Xl opting against a return in a show of solidarity with outgoing director Tim Miller, 20th Century Fox has enlisted a new composer to score its upcoming superhero sequel Deadpool 2, with Film Music Reporter revealing that the task has fallen to Tyler Bates.

Bates has previously collaborated with Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch on John Wick and Atomic Blonde, while he also has plenty of superhero movie experience, having scored the likes of Watchmen, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the upcoming Netflix series The Punisher.

Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider Review

When the dust settles, the Dishonored games will be remembered as modern classics. On the ground, these elaborate playgrounds are made to last, stuffed with avenues to explore and hidden routes that reward the dedicated traveler. They’re a mathematical marvel. But from afar, the art deco touches and steampunk influences breathe life into the game’s cold, calculating geometry. Dishonored is that rare breed: a meticulous technical masterpiece that is also a work of art.

In five short years, Arkane has spun five games from the Dishonored web, and for a series about assassinating high-profile targets, Death of the Outsider introduces the biggest target of all: the beady black-eyed wonder known as The Outsider; the celestial being who has been there from the start. With the livelihood of the series’ enduring personality up in the air, this might be the end of Dishonored as we know it, but Arkane

Ryan Reynolds Says Josh Brolin Will Be An “Epic” Cable In Deadpool 2

If Avengers: Infinity War and the role of Thanos simply requires some motion capture work and perhaps a booming line of dialogue here and there, then the opposite is true for Cable.

Alongside Domino (Zazie Beetz), Nathan Summers is one of the high-profile newcomers on the Deadpool 2 roll call, and after Pierce Brosnan, Kyle Chandler, Stephen Lang (Avatar), Michael Shannon, Keira Knightley, and soon-to-be Hellboy actor David Harbour were all linked with the gig, Infinity War‘s Josh Brolin sealed a deal to play Cable opposite the Merc With a Mouth.

It’s a role the actor has wholeheartedly embraced, too, posting a steady stream of updates from the make-up chair and even the gym, where he’s spent long hours getting into shape in the hope of portraying an accurate version of Nathan Summers. After all, the one-eyed, time-travelling mercenary is a bona fide fan-favorite amongst comic book fans,

Deadpool 2 Is The Comic Book Equivalent Of Rush Hour

If Avengers: Infinity War and the role of Thanos merely requires some motion capture work and a booming line of dialogue here and there, then the opposite is true for Cable.

First introduced as the miracle child of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, the character’s history stretches all the way back to 1986, and those familiar with him will know full well of the exciting dynamic he shares with the titular hero. The two make for quite a team, and while speaking with ComicBook.com, creator Rob Liefeld likened their relationship to that of Lee and Carter in Rush Hour.

‘Kong: Skull Island’ Scene Slammed for Insanely Fast Editing — Watch

‘Kong: Skull Island’ Scene Slammed for Insanely Fast Editing — Watch
Kong: Skull Island” is not the only Hollywood movie to employ dizzyingly fast editing, but the latest installment of Legendary Entertainment’s MonsterVerse is taking some hits for its rapid cutting pace. A YouTube video entitled “Terrible editing in Kong: Skull Island” reveals that an early sequence in the film averages one cut every two seconds during a nearly five-minute span.

While that is a lot of cutting, Hollywood in general has tended to use faster editing in action movies, with some scenes even averaging less than two seconds per cut. Both “Taken 3” and “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” include scenes with average shot lengths of 1.7 seconds, No Film School reported last year. Tony Scott’s 2005 film “Domino” also features sequences with an Asl of 1.8, while “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “Mad Mad: Fury Road” clock in at 2.0 and 2.1 respectively.

Marvel Unchains Its Wolverine Hulk Hybrid in New Comic

Marvel has officially unleashed an unholy mega-mutant monster of epic proportions. Back in February, Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso posted a pretty crazy photo that featured what looked to be Hulk in a tank with Wolverine claws. Turns out, that is exactly what was in that tank and now, the insane Wolverine/Hulk hybrid, named the Hulkverine, has been unleashed on the world of Marvel Comics. And no mutant is safe.

Warning: spoilers ahead for the current Weapon X series and Weapons of Mutant Destruction: Alpha. Marvel is currently in the middle of a crossover event that is dealing with this Wolverine and Hulk hybrid, which has officially been set loose in the Weapons of Mutant Destruction: Alpha comic. Combine all of the best elements of Hulk with the healing power and Adamantium skeleton (claws included) of Wolverine and what do you get? A monster capable of killing all mutants on Earth. And that is exactly the goal. Here's the synopsis for the event.

"Their goal is a simple one...Eradicate All Mutants! And they're starting their hunt with the most dangerous group of mutants on planet Earth, Old Man Logan, Sabretooth, Domino, Lady Deathstrike, Warpath and...the Hulk?! But with an army of genetic cyborgs at their disposal, this may just be the beginning..."

This actually isn't the first time that a Hulk/Wolverine hybrid has shown up in Marvel Comics. In the Secret Wars: Civil War series back in 2015, a gray Hulk who turned out to be Logan that was able to deploy his adamantium claws at Captain America's command did show up, but this is completely different. This was engineered with a purpose, and that purpose is to kill all mutants. Author Greg Pak, who is writing a lot of the comics in this crossover event, spoke a bit about just how powerful this Hulkverine is.

""That's like a machine gun with a bazooka, some hand grenades and a bunch of knives thrown in; and then the Hulk is a nuke," explains Pak, "He's the strongest entity in the Marvel universe so if anyone has that power they're a huge threat. They could wipe out all mutants."

Marvel faithful probably won't be surprised to find out that the man behind the Hulkverine is none other than Reverend William Stryker. This is the man responsible for creating Wolverine and, under the new Weapon-x program, he is asserting his hatred for mutant kind in all new ways. It is now up to a team that consists of Old Man Logan, Sabretooth, Domino, Lady Deathstrike, Warpath and Hulk to defeat the Hulkverine and save mutant kind. There are still a lot of secrets behind the creation that need to be revealed, and some of them will be next month in Weapon X number 6. For now, you can check out some of the Hulkverine images for yourself below and, if you feel so included, you can read Weapons of Mutant Destruction: Alpha, as well as Totally Awesome Hulk 19, which is the official prelude.

Ryan Reynolds Shares First Set Photo From Deadpool 2, Features X-Men Mansion

Cable and Domino are, without question, the two headline-worthy additions to David Leitch’s anti-hero sequel, Deadpool 2, and the former in particular has generated a metric ton of buzz among the comic book community ever since the Merc With a Mouth first teased the advent of Wade Wilson’s long-time nemesis last year.

In typically flippant fashion, Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed protagonist rhymed off a series of big names including Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, and, er, Keira Knightley. But it turns out the Powers That Be have selected Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) to play the time-travelling mercenary known as Nathan Summers. Brolin beat out a whole host of actors to land the coveted gig, too, after reports claimed that Pierce Brosnan and Stephen Lang were both in contention at one point or another.

Alas, now that Fox and director David Leitch have made their decision, fans can begin to

Brian De Palma directing new Christina Hendricks thriller

Don Kaye May 5, 2017

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks will play a cop in legendary director Brian De Palma's latest outing...

Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame is set to star in Domino, a new thriller from director Brian De Palma (that's nothing to do with the Tony Scott movie of the same name). According to The Wrap, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game of Thrones will co-star in the film.

The pair will play Danish cops who are on the hunt for the person who murdered Coster-Waldau's partner. What they don't know is that their chief suspect is an American CIA agent in pursuit of an Isis terror cell.

The movie does not have a distributor yet but will head to the film market at this year's Cannes Film Festival in search of backing.

Hendricks was recently seen in Fist Fight and Bad Santa 2 -- two projects that she's probably

Brian de Palma to direct Christina Hendricks and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Domino

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a new project from iconic director Brian de Palma, but he’s finally got his eye set on a new film. Empire has reported that De Palma will be directing Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and Game of ThronesNikolaj Coster Waldau in the thriller Domino.

Domino will see Coster-Waldau as a Copenhagen-based police officer on a mission to avenge his partner after they are murdered by a mysterious criminal named Imran. He teams up with a fellow cop and late colleague’s mistress, played by Hendricks, to bring Imran to justice, but the case turns into a game of cat and mouse that draws in the CIA and takes the pair from Scandinavia to Spain.

There is a chance that the film will face a title change to avoid confusion with Tony Scott’s 2005 film of the same name starring Keira Knightley.

Richard Kelly Reflects on ‘Donnie Darko’ and Finding Catharsis in Apocalyptic Narratives

Last year marked the 15-year anniversary of Richard Kelly’s debut cult curio, Donnie Darko. On March 31st, the film will hit theaters once again in a brand-new, director-approved 4K restoration. While the film’s cult-status has elevated it into its own separate canon alongside other 21st-century indie-cult hits, Kelly’s two other films — the positively delirious and daring Southland Tales and the labyrinthine sci-fi period piece The Box — prove that he is a director deserving of much greater consideration. Sadly it’s been about eight years since a new film of his has been in theaters, but the time is surely ripe. Kelly’s visions of the end-times feel just as urgent now as they did when we were first introduced to them back in 2001. And since we’re living in a time when the formerly reclusive Terrence Malick is miraculously pumping out multiple films a year, there’s

It’s Official: Zazie Beetz Lands The Role Of Domino In Deadpool 2

For the past month or so, the Deadpool 2 rumor mill has been operating at full tilt, churning out one speculative tidbit after another that resulted in a situation where Sienna Miller, MacKenzie Davis, Kerry Washington and Janelle Monae all became linked to the coveted role of Domino at one point or another. That search has now finally – finally! – reached its conclusion though.

Cutting through the noise today was the Merc With a Mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds, who announced the casting of Domino in the weirdest way possible. Per Twitter, the Canadian star confirmed that Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz has now landed the part of the deadly, gun-toting mercenary, who will be sharing the screen with Deadpool and the as-yet-uncast Cable very soon indeed. Early 2018, perhaps?

It’s still early, early days on the David Leitch-directed sequel, but with Zazie Beetz now officially on board, Deadpool 2 can finally

False Alarm: Janelle Monáe Will Not Be In Deadpool 2

Ever since 20th Century Fox dropped the first promo for Deadpool 2 along with Logan last week, all eyes have turned to the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel. Though early reports painted a worrying picture – what with the departure of Tim Miller and Junkie Xl, not to mention some scripting problems coming up – thankfully, things look to be back on track now and with the film gearing up for production this spring, casting news is heating up.

We already know that both Cable and Domino will be joining Ryan Reynolds’ antihero for his second big screen outing, but there’s been no word yet on who may be playing the new characters. Everyone under the sun has been rumored though, with Pierce Brosnan, David Harbour and Russell Crowe all flirting with Cable, and Mackenzie Davis, Kerry Washington and Janelle Monáe all coming up in discussion for Domino.

Janelle Monae Is Reportedly In Contention To Play Domino In Deadpool 2

From Sienna Miller to MacKenzie Davis, Kerry Washington to Janelle Monae, That Hashtag Show is reporting today that the latter singer-songwriter has now emerged as the new frontrunner to land the coveted role of Domino in Deadpool 2.

A relative newcomer to the acting scene, Monae turned heads and raised eyebrows last year following back-to-back performances across Nasa drama Hidden Figures and the Oscar-winning Moonlight, so, assuming Ths’ report holds true, it’s small wonder why the budding actress has found herself shortlisted for 20th Century Fox’s R-rated sequel. However, we should stress that today’s rumor in no way confirms that Janelle Monae has actually landed the gig – much like the currently vacant role of Cable, Fox is yet to announce anything official at the time of writing.

Leslie Jones Wants To Play The Sidekick In Deadpool 2

After the bastardized version of the character that appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the Merc with a Mouth finally got redemption with last year’s Deadpool. The film was a major gamble on behalf of all involved, but it turned out to be a resounding success, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie to date and earning its place on numerous best of 2016 lists.

Now, almost a year after its release, production on the sequel is starting to heat up. Deadpool 2 faced some minor hurdles early on, losing director Tim Miller and composer Junkie Xl, but everything seems to be back on track now. Presumably, Fox is busy casting the supporting roles and while a number of actors and actresses have been linked to various parts, nothing’s been confirmed just yet.

One person who’s certainly hoping that the studio gives them a call though is Leslie Jones. The Saturday Night Live

‘Donnie Darko’ Turns 15: Richard Kelly On Making a Cult Film and Taking a Seven-Year Break
It’s been 15 years since “Donnie Darko” first hit theaters, but audiences are still clamoring to see writer-director Richard Kelly’s 2001 cult classic on the big screen. Arrow Films’ 15th anniversary release has sold out several screenings of a new 4k restoration of the film, which began an exclusive run at the British Film Institute in London on Saturday and expands nationwide in the U.K. on December 23. No plans have been announced regarding a potential release in the U.S.

Set in 1988, the movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a troubled teenager who’s visited at night by an imaginary friend named Frank, a haunting figure wearing a large rabbit suit. Frank tells Donnie that the world will end in 28 days, six hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, and manipulates him to commit a series of crimes while sleepwalking.
