Kat Dennings Among Cast for 'Thor'

24 November 2009 1:44 AM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

Following several actors who have been previously confirmed to join "Thor", Kat Dennings also has a part in the film. The news was first spilled by the film's star Natalie Portman when she was interviewed by MTV Splash Page. "Well I'm really excited. Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she's a good friend and an amazing actress, so I'm looking forward to that," the depicter of Thor's first love Jane Foster said.

Dennings' inclusion in the cast ensemble for the film was later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. However, there has been no word on what character that will be played by the 23-year-old beauty as the site claimed Marvel Studio keeps a closed lid on her role.

Dennings is perhaps best known for her role as Norah Silverberg in "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist", which aided her to receive nomination as Breakthrough Performance Female at 2009 MTV Movie Awards. »

Big Momma's House 3 in the Works

4 September 2009 7:24 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Martin Lawrence waddling around in a fat suit in Big Momma's House was a cheap, inferior rip-off of Robin Williams and his antics in Mrs. Doubtfire. And we know that lately (and always?) Hollywood has been cranking out sequel after remake after sequel, completely shirking any whiff of originality. But we probably have to give the studios some credit: at least they're being blatantly transparent about it.

Cinema Blend reports that 20th Century Fox made an announcement that not only will there be a Big Momma's House 3, but the studio is hiring the very same screenwriter who penned Mrs. Doubtfire! Wow, and we thought they were at least trying to act like the whole thing wasn't a rip-off.

Yes it's true: Randi Mayem Singer will give us the third installment of latex-laced mediocrity. No word yet on a director or any cast members, although it would be hard to imagine they'd make it without Lawrence. »

Because You Asked For It: ‘Big Momma’s House 3′

3 September 2009 3:57 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

That unexplained happy feeling you felt when you woke up this morning, that little bit of blazing sunshine in your soul that wasn't there the night before, that smile on your face that shouldn't be there. It has an explanation now. Big Momma's House 2 finally has a sequel. Finally. Has. A. Sequel. According to Variety, Fox has hired Randi Mayem Singer from The Tooth Fairy and Mrs. Doubtfire fame to write Big Momma's House 3 as a sequel to the sequel that was once the third highest-grossing January release of all time (and is now the 6th highest). There's no word yet on whether Martin Lawrence is back again, but he has to be right? There's no way anyone could take his emotionally powerful fat-suit performance and turn it into their own. Maybe Don Cheadle, but no one else. What do you think? »

'Big Momma's House 3' Picks Up Writer

2 September 2009 11:56 PM, PDT | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

Another "Big Momma's House" movie is indeed in the work. Variety has recently come up with a story that 20th Century Fox has brought on board one of "Tooth Fairy" screenwriters, Randi Mayem Singer, to provide the script for the second sequel installment of the "Big Momma" series, "Big Momma's House 3".

It is still unclear what storyline this third movie will go with since the studio has kept the logline under tight wraps. David Friendly, the producer of the first two "Big Momma" films, will return to his producing duties. No word on who will direct the project and on whether or not leading actor Martin Lawrence will reprise his Malcolm Turner character.

In late 2008, Friendly has opened up about the development of this project during the "Soul Men" press day in Beverly Hills. To IESB, he revealed that it was in its script writing stage. The producer of »

"White Chicks 2" On The Way

17 August 2009 4:34 AM, PDT | Reel Empire | See recent Reel Empire news »

I think I was the only person on the planet that found "White Chicks" to be hysterical.  It's an idea that has been recycled numerous times, but there was definitely something likeable about the picture as I went to the theater three times to see it.  In any case, the Wayans brothers have decided to develop a sequel for the moderatly successful 2004 flick.  Details are being kept heavily under wraps as usual, but if I were to guess, I'd say it has something to do with two black FBI agents posing as two white women to solve a crime.  Most likely it'll be something along the lines of "Big Momma's House 2", but hopefully better executed. »
