So many people are smiling back right now.

Star of The Railway Children, Walkabout, Logan’s Run and An American Werewolf in London. Jenny Agutter appeared as Kryten’s creator Professor Mamet, though in truth she was a shape-shifting Gelf (Genetically Engineered Life-Form) with a hankering for brains.

Jenny Agutter is to this day, even with her numerous acting achievements under her belt, still seen as a figure of lust. Though it is completely wrong to view any actor in this way, it doesn’t remove the memory of watching this episode – on its original airing – with my dad sat on the settee, suddenly barking,

Carrie Fisher, Outspoken and Honest, Leaves Behind a Void in Mental Health Advocacy
Carrie Fisher’s death at 60 years old on Tuesday sent shockwaves through Hollywood, as fans and actors alike reacted to the news of her passing.

“We just lost a great ally for mental health and addiction,” Margaret Cho wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. “Be strong, be as strong as she'd want you to be.” Cho’s tweet was one of many to recognize the void in mental health advocacy created in the wake of Fisher’s death.

The longtime actress, famous for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, was also a celebrated writer and advocate, who used her celebrity status to create awareness for mental health issues and addiction.

“I’ve been in therapy since I was 15 years old,” Fisher frankly told Et, later revealing to The Guardian that therapy was “my only serious relationship.”

Netflix announces 'Bill Nye Saves the World'
Bill Nye the Science Guy is about to educate and inform a lot more people the fun way again. Netflix is giving him a brand new talk show series set for Spring 2017. Bill Nye the Science Guy was a half-hour science program that aired on PBS and other networks from 1993-1998. It was a successor to things like Watch Mr. Wizard, Mr. Wizard's World, and Beakman's World. The show was great for a lot of reasons, the most important of course being that it got people engaged with learning science. The second, for me at least, was that it was hosted by a "geek" who was "cool." That might sound funny but as a kid who hid her geekiness, it was nice to see someone not just getting attention for theirs but paid for it. IndieWire reported this morning that the new series with Nye will be a talk show

We all thought the casting news would finally let up now that Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Homecoming is well into production, but apparently not. Deadline reports that actress/comedian Martha Kelly will also feature in the impressive ensemble. As per usual, no details are provided on her character, but it's probably safe to assume she's not playing an established Marvel Comics villain. Kelly started out making appearances on the likes of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Last Comic Standing, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and recently made her acting debut in FX's Baskets alongside her friend Zach Galifianakis

The Weirdest Emmy Ballot Omissions and Oddities

The Weirdest Emmy Ballot Omissions and Oddities
The race for the Emmys has officially begun. Voting for the TV Academy’s top honors is now open until June 26 — exclusively online for the first time ever — and ballots for all categories are available for viewing.

Variety perused some of the top categories to check out the inevitable oddities, including series left out of consideration (wherefore art thou, “Cougar Town”?) and key performers guaranteed not to get nominated because they’re not on the ballot (sorry, Max Greenfield).

(Meanwhile “Glee” and “Shameless” stayed in comedy, along with newcomer “Jane the Virgin.”) But somehow hourlongs “Devious Maids” (Lifetime) and “Hart of Dixie” (the CW) wound up in the comedy category too, with no fanfare.
