During a scene where he is being chased from behind by a ghoul, he kicks the face/head of the ghoul which then splits apart, sort of like squashing a watermelon. There are lots of images of people after committing suicide in horrific ways. While Mike is in the room he sees ghosts of people jumping out of the window or using other methods to commit suicide. The window snaps shut on Mike's hand and the hotel won't let him clean it off so he gets blood all over the place.
