Having been engaged since August, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski reportedly are planning to make their union official in June 2010. British Ok! Magazine which breaks the report doesn't mention the exact date, but claims that the twosome has been planning a beach wedding and is still looking for the perfect tropical spot.
"Emily's friend Anne Hathaway will be chief bridesmaid and there will be no more than 50 guests," an unnamed source tells the publication. Both actresses are co-stars in 2006 drama-comedy "The Devil Wears Prada".
Neither Emily nor John has addressed the wedding report though. Anne also has not yet confirmed if she will lend a helping hand at the celebrity couple's nuptials should the report is proven true.
John Krasinski had been dating Emily Blunt for nearly a year when they got engaged. In spite of their love relationship, they are rarely photographed together as they want to keep their love away from the spotlight. »

Have you ever wondered what was behind the bob and sunglasses; behind the fear of countless designers and quivering interns? I must say that the best way to sum up Anna Wintour’s identity is by comparing her to Gossip Girl. Having said this, if she read what I have just said I have no doubt that she would not just disagree but would probably coolly and decisively cut my opinion down and stamp on it with her high heels, but to be honest, as I will explain later, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I compare her (loosely) to Gossip Girl because of her ability to control those around her without breaking identity and when I say identity, I mean her Editor/owner of Vogue face which only changes expression slightly when she dislikes something. The ‘real’ Anna Wintour, -the human being with children and maybe a »

On the same day I sat in the presence of Tilda Swinton (which I already told you about), I also attended the similarly formatted Stanley Tucci event at the New Yorker festival. You can read my article about the experience over at Tribeca. I love that they festooned it with an old Levi's ad of Tucci's. So weird to see him like that.
As you may have noticed in past conversations, I'm fairly fond of Tucci and I've been happy to see his (supporting) star rising. I knew nothing about him personally so the event was my first reveal of what he was like off stage: serious but funny (and punny as the case may be). He's often referred to as a Character Actor which he dubs a redundant term. What they mean is you're not a leading man. It's like saying that someone is heavyset or 'she's a handsome woman! »

Stanley Tucci is having a very good year. This summer we saw him reunited with Meryl Streep, the star of his last big hit The Devil Wears Prada, for another crowdpleaser, the foodie dream Julie and Julia. Next month he's a career tribute honoree at the annual Gotham Film Awards. He'll close out 2009 with a killer role (literally) in Peter Jackson's adaptation of the best seller The Lovely Bones. This weekend he got the interview treatment on stage as part of the annual New Yorker Festival. Did he owe this honor to this career peak year or due to the fact that he's one of the only filmmakers to ever make a movie about the New Yorker itself? (His second directorial effort, Joe Gould's Secret, was about staff writer Joe Mitchell and a New Yorker profile about the eccentric Gould.) It didn't take long for that movie to come up. »

Actress Emily Blunt accepted a marriage proposal from longtime beau John Krasinski in August, and tells "Extra" she's still shocked by her rock.
"It's a little blinding," Emily joked to "Extra" at Elle magazine's Women in Hollywood Tribute in Beverly Hills. The starlet also cleared up rumors about the couple's hush-hush engagement -- including the false rumor that everyone cried when the "Office" star popped the question. "That's the thing... you make a joke... and it turns into the truth, »

Chicago – Just as “My Best Friend’s Wedding” existed solely to provide Julia Roberts with a career comeback, “The Proposal” aimed to prove that Sandra Bullock still has what it takes to headline a romantic comedy. In that regard, it succeeded admirably.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.0/5.0
Audiences flocked to it, though Bullock may have lost some returning fans with her other summer release, the disastrous “All About Steve.” What often makes her screen presence so endearing is the earthiness and self-deprecation that brings texture to her good looks. As silly as her “Miss Congeniality” films were, they presented a female protagonist who chose her individuality over the stereotypical feminine qualities that often win trophies at beauty pageants. In “The Proposal,” Bullock plays another woman unwilling to compromise her strong personality…that is, until the plot kicks in.
The Proposal was released on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 13th, 2009.

After playing Meryl Streep's cruel first assistant in The Devil Wears Prada, Emily Blunt is clearly moving up in the world. In The Young Victoria, the 26-year-old actress plays the 17-year-old royal just as she is assuming the throne of Queen of England in the mid-1800's and becoming romantically entangled with her cousin Prince Albert, played by Rupert Friend. In real life, Blunt is engaged to The Office's John Krasinski, sporting a ring truly fit for a queen. - Oliver Jones »

While most studios have closed their wallets for the year, as far as development spending goes, Paramount recently spent $2 million to purchase a pitch from writers Aline Brosh McKenna and Simon Kinberg.
Nothing has been revealed about the film’s plot, but with the two writers coming from very different backgrounds genre-wise, this information will be anxiously awaited.
McKenna’s writing has generally leaned towards the ‘chick flick’ category, with such films as The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses to her name. Kinberg, on the other hand, tends more towards the action-drama side of things, with Mr. and Mrs. Smith and X-Men: The Last Stand both to his credit.
With such different areas of expertise, it will be interesting to see how the two writers managed to fuse their respective styles into something Paramount was so eager to snatch up.

Paramount, going against the recent trend amongst Hollywood studios to halt spending for the rest of the year, just closed a deal valued at nearly $2 million on a pitch for a feature film penned by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses) and Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand, Sherlock Holmes) with J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk producing.
All parties are currently staying quiet as to what the plot of the film is and with writers whose genres differentiate so greatly, any cute/endearing film expert (like myself) can make an educated guess that it’s probably going to involve mutated husband and wife spy detectives who have 27 Prada dresses made by the devil. Well, may not exactly like that, but close… real close.
With McKenna’s background being more female-driven and Kinberg’s that of action, I’m extremely excited to see what these two »

X-men scribe Simon Kinberg and The Devil Wears Prada writer Aline Brosh McKenna have sold a film idea to Paramount for almost $2million, reports Variety.
The untitled feature film will be produced by Star Trek director (and Lost creator) Jj Abrams and Bryan Burk, through their Bad Robot production company.
Paramount has a first-look deal with Bad Robot, which honed the pitch with the two writers. The plot of the project is not being disclosed at this stage.
London-born Kinberg (right) has writing credits including Mr and Mrs Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand and the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes. He's also a producer on the planned X-Men: First Class prequel.
McKenna's work includes 27 dresses and the upcoming Morning Glory which stars Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton.
The two writers are friends who recently worked together on a rewrite of Fox's Date Night, starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey. »

J.J. Abrams list of productions grows ever longer. On top of “Lost,” “Fringe,” the inevitable “Star Trek” sequel and the long-gestating “Cloverfield 2″ and “Mission Impossible 4″ films, Abrams production company, Bad Robot, will also be handling a script from new collaborators Aline Brosh McKenna (”The Devil Wears Prada,” “27 Dresses”) and Simon Kinberg (”Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “Sherlock Holmes”). Paramount purchased the script, still untitled, for a sweet $2 million, taking advantage of its first-look deal with Bad Robot. For more details, hit the jump and begin the year-long secrecy-fueled roller-coaster of anticipation that comes with an Abrams produced film.
As both Paramount and Bad Robot are refusing to divulge even a one sentence summary of the film’s plot, I may have used the term “details” loosely. All Abrams has said so far is, “These two writers couldn’t be more different, the genres they write seem almost diametrically opposed. But they »

How much is too much when it comes to buying an idea for a movie? If it comes from an unknown writer who doesn't have any hit films to their credit, maybe the answer is not a lot. But when it comes to buying an idea for a movie from a pair of writers who have written sizeable hits, the answer is $2 million dollars. At least, that's the answer that J.J. Abrams gave writers Simon Kinburg and Aline Brosh McKenna.
Paramount Pictures bought the untitled movie idea from the writers for Abrams' Bad Robot production company. If you're hoping to know what kind of idea is worth $2 million bucks, Bad Robot and Paramount aren't going to tell you -- at least not right now. The logline for the idea is being kept a secret but J.J. told Variety that their pitch "thrilled us." Whatever the idea was, Bad Robot loved it, »

So essentially, I might as well just hand you a blank piece of paper and tell you that it will be filled with a spectacular movie, because there's not much else we can tell you. I could make stuff up, but I like to leave that to Fox News. Variety announced that Paramount Pictures paid over $2 million for an untitled feature pitch from writers Aline Brosh McKenna and Simon Kinberg to be produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk under the Bad Robot production banner. No plot details have been revealed just yet, but if you're familiar with these writers' previous work, their collaboration is intriguing, to say the very least. McKenna has become known for her lighthearted and dare I say charming work with female-centered stories like The Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses and the upcoming Bad Robot production of Morning Glory. On the other end of the spectrum ... »

J.J. Abrams is at it again. The filmmaker and his Bad Robot label will develop an untitled pitch Paramount bought for a couple of million from screenwriters Aline Brosh McKenna and Simon Kinberg.
As usual, Abrams doesn't reveal a word about the project. Plot details are strictly kept under wraps, and at this stage, I don't even know what genre to expect from this one.
Brosh McKenna penned "The Devil Wears Prada," "27 Dresses" and the upcoming "The Ivy Chronicles," which leads me to believe this one could be a comedy. Kinberg's credits include "Sherlock Holmes" and "Jumper." »

Variety says that Paramount has acquired an untitled feature pitch from screenwriters Aline Brosh McKenna and Simon Kinberg. J.J. Abrams will produce with Bryan Burk through their Bad Robot. Sherryl Clark, Bad Robot's film chief, will executive produce. Lindsay Paulson is an associate producer. The trade says that neither Paramount nor Bad Robot would disclose the plot. McKenna's credits include The Devil Wears Prada , 27 Dresses and the upcoming Bad Robot-produced Morning Glory , while Kinberg has written such pics as Mr. & Mrs. Smith , X-Men: The Last Stand and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes . A new, slick trailer has emerged for The Young Victoria, a new period drama starring Emily Blunt. Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) stars in what looks to be an elegant, angst-ridden Victorian-era drama as the young British queen (that would be Queen Victoria). Rupert Friend plays Prince Albert. With Martin Scorsese and the Duchess of York lending producing cred, The Young Victoria looks to be a well-made heart-tugger. With a screenplay written by Oscar-winner Julian Fellowes (scribe of Gosford Park), and costumes that were insured for 10,000Gbp apiece, we're no doubt in for a royally interesting ride. The film, filmed mostly in 2007, was released to solid reviews in March of 2009 in the UK, but will be given a limited Us release on December 18th. It is currently available on DVD in Great Britain. If you were anxiously awaiting a movie featuring Kristen Bell and Christina Aguilera fighting it out to see who becomes queen of the neo-burlesque stage (undoubtedly while wearing skimpy outfits), then this is your lucky day. Why? Well, it seems Bell has signed to take a role in Screen Gems upcoming musical drama Burlesque, which features that exact scenario.
Just in case you’ve never hard of this movie or needed a minute because you were picturing Kristen Bell in lingerie, Burlesque tells the story of “an ambitious small-town girl (Aguilera) with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club, reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse’s Cabaret.”
Bell will play Nikki, the “loose-cannon lead dancer and main attraction” at the club who, to say the least, is not so pleased when Aguilera’s character suddenly gets the spotlight. Of course, an intense »
