Trivia

The bosses' gun, "The Patriot" is based on a gun later to be invented, the Olympic Arms 93(OA-93), an assault pistol firing 5.56x45mm rifle rounds in a small pistol size. It is fitted with another future devise, the Beta-C magazine which is a dual-drum magazine holding 100 rounds(infinite ammo in the game because it is shaped like an infinity symbol). It even lacks a front sight and has no stock with the bolt spring housing sticking out instead(the long black tube behind the handle). It's rate of fire is a little too slow but its recoil is well depicted as low (the 100 round mag adds some heft, especially when it never runs out of ammo). See more »

The best game EVER
11 March 2006 | by (Sweden) – See all my reviews

The ones that like spy games like James bond and Splinter cell MUST play this game, Its truly an amazing game, I Actually hated spy games before i played this game, its incredible, the characters, movements actors, the music and of course the History, its really good, since this is actually the Start of the metal gear games and thats great.

This is the 3rd game in the Metal gear games for Playstation, but it is the first one in the series, It plays out in 1964, The cold war was still going on so you can make a good story about the game, as Kojima did. its great since this is actually a "uppgrade" of the original Metal gear solid 3: Snake eater, they have added lots of cool stuff just as they did on Metal gear solid 2: Substance, and thats great because if you have played Snake eater you just want more so this is great for us Metal gear fans.

When you first start playing this game you get blown away from reality, you can stop playing it, its a wonderful Survival game just as all kojimas games, Hideo Kojima is a Genius!
