Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Two men visit a place where men pay women to have sex with them. There, we see a man and woman kiss through the entire scene. A man asks for some money to pay one of the women, as she laughs at him, him laughing as well, awaiting his return.

Violence & Gore

We see a man fall down a hole landing on his back and groans in pain.

A large metal object strikes through a man's shoulder off screen but there is a very brief spray of blood, he is then shown wounded and dead.

Another man is killed in an almost identical accident.

A man is slapped around many times and choked.

A boy slaps and punches his father.

A man throws bowling balls, then pins at another man before beating him to death with one, and then shows the dead man suffered head trauma from the bowling pin in a small pool of blood.

A man is shot in the side of the head and dies with his eyes open.

There is also two references of a father beating his daughter.

Profanity

1 use of the word "bastard".

1 use of the word "damn".

1 use of the word "ass".

Several characters drink and smoke casually in the film. There is a discussion between two men about getting women drunk.

Despite it not being obvious, Plainview progressively drinks more and more whiskey throughout the film and becomes an alcoholic, and is most likely drunk in the final scene when he beats a character to death.

A murder scene taking place at the end of the film is threatening, brutal and graphic. Tensions rise as a loud argument takes place before it.

A violent gas explosion is depicted and a child is permanently disabled because of it. (Characters are in danger during this scene).

A house is set in flames on purpose, two men try to put it out.
