I was surprised that we didn't see a Sorcerer's Apprentice trailer online around when A Christmas Carol was released because it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pimp one of Disney's biggest upcoming films (they instead used that slot to promote another Jerry Bruckheimer/Disney collaboration, Prince Of Persia). But website Fanboys.net has a few scans of the first official photos from the film. It looks like it's taken from a 2010 preview kit so hopefully these images will be available... »

· And here it is: The trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans. First thoughts? Too many clothes, as we've whined before. Really Loud Prog Rap Rock Metal Music! Less vertigo-inducing than Prince of Persia. Really Big Scorpion!!! Still waiting to be sold on Sam Worthington as leading man. Omg! Walnut-faced people! There's That Scorpion Again, Watch Out! And it looks Ok? That's about it for now. [via Ontd] »

The trailer for Clash of the Titans just dopped and now that I've reveled in some epic fantasy awesomeness from French director Louis Leterrier about five times I think it's time to bring some opinion into this piece.
First, thank god this looks better than The Incredible Hulk. Second, my god this makes Prince of Persia look like a silly kids flick. Is this first look at Clash of the Titan's a perfect win though? Not really. Fantasy should always have that sweeping, corn-gold classic score. Old fashioned? No way. It's up to the images to be modern, not the music. Riff-rock's just not my thing. Giant scorpions however? Total win. Brings back visions of stop-motion creature features which I love.
Synopsis:
A remake of the 1981 film version of the myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. »

Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations for a role in sci-fi thriller “Source Code.”
The movie will be directed by David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones (”Moon”) from a script written by Ben Ripley (”The Watch”).
“Source Code” centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
Shooting should start in early 2010.
Gyllenhaal is currently filming Ed Zwick’s “Love and Other Drugs” and will next be seen in Jim Sheridan’s drama “Brothers” alongside Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire and Disney’s “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”
Jones is currently writing the screenplay of the upcoming film “Mute,” which he will also direct.

Director Brett Ratner has had no involvement with Quentin Tarantino's recent war thriller Inglourious Basterds or with the upcoming films Avatar, The Wolfman or Prince of Persia, but somehow he has managed to get a cameo appearance in all of them, courtesy of some spoof posters on a new website.
Ratnerfilms depicts the filmmaker digitally added to publicity images of Joe Johnston's The Wolfman, James Cameron's Avatar, Mike Newell's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Grant Heslov's comedy The Men Who Stare at Goats (or stare at Ratner in this case), as well as several other releases.
It's not the first time Ratner has popped up imitating other roles. X-Men fans will remember him donning mutton chops, fake metal claws and a leather suit to portray Wolverstein, his version of Jackman's Wolverine, in a spoof publicity shot for X-Men: The Last Stand.

Is it wrong that the first thought that popped into my mind after viewing the trailer for Jim Sheridan’s new film Brothers was “I’m so glad somebody finally decided to capitalize on the physical similarity between Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire!”?
The film, which will be released on December 4, centers around the conflict between two brothers over one woman (Natalie Portman) after one thought to be dead overseas returns home. The trailer starts out as sappy melodrama and then shifts into something over the top and maybe a little absurd.
Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments!

If there's one thing I particularly dug about An Education it was Dominic Cooper's smug, suave and mildly compassionate character. I mildly remembered him from The Duchess, but beyond that his roles in The History Boys and even Mamma Mia! are lost on me. Perhaps they were small and forgettable or just plain forgettable, but he was one cool cat in An Education and it's nice to see him scoring some additional work even if it is for Lee Tamahori, the director of the disappointing Bond film Die Another Day and xXx: State of the Union.
The film is The Devil's Double and is described by Screen Daily as a taut action tale about the extraordinary life of Latif Yahia. Cooper will play Yahia, a dead ringer for Saddam Hussein's sadistic and widely despised son, was forced against his will to stand in for Uday in potentially dangerous situations. »

It has been over a year since I boarded a plane to London to visit the Pinewood Studios set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Disney's big screen adaptation of the popular video game. It's a one hour ride from our hotel near downtown London to Pinewood Studios. Prince of Persia has taken over the UK-based production studios, currently occupying eight out of ten of the sound-stages on the lot. Our shuttle driver drops us off on Goldfinger Ave, and we enter a building numbered Building Seven. Posters line the walls of every building in Pinewood, showing some of the many movies that have been filmed at the studio. In the lobby of Theater Seven, the posters include Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Hellboy 2, The Mutant Chronicles and Quantum of Solace. It is in this lobby that we meet with Michael Singer, the unit publicist »

While on the set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, we had a chance to talk to some of the cast. Below you will find our roundtable interviews with Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton: You've done big movies like The Day After Tomorrow and you've had some opportunities to do a franchise movie, so what was it about this particular franchise that made you want to be involved in it? Jake Gyllenhaal: I think just on a personal front, it was just so unlikely and so unlike anything I'd ever played really, and any type of movie that I think anyone would expect, that I just kind of wanted to do it. (laughs) It felt like that personally, but also, more than anything, when I talked with Mike Newell about it, it wasn't just like your normal video game adaptation. It was an actual massive epic »

Duncan Jones’ Moon was one of the best debut films from a young and talented director to have been released in quite a while. He got an amazing performance out of Sam Rockwell and the film looked like a mash-up of Kubrick, Aronofsky and The Twilight Zone. And while his next project, Mute (said to be inspired heavily by Blade Runner) has been put on the backburner due to budgetary constraints, he’s got another project lined up.
His next film will be called Source Code, and will star the Prince of Persia himself, Jake Gyllenhaal. The film will center “on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.” Sounds very intriguing and quite a bit like the mystery that was unraveled in Moon. Hopefully he »

Jake Gyllenhaal is set to do a Rockwellby hooking up with Moon helmer Duncan Jones for a sci-fi thriller project called Source Code.
The film follows a soldier who wakes up in the body of an nameless commuter who in a twisted Groundhog Day scenario must re-live a terrifying train bombing over and over again until he solves who is responsible for it.
The script for Source Code, written by Species III (Especie mortal III) scribbler Ben Ripley , has been knocking around Universal since early 2007 when it was originally set to star flavour of that month Topher 'where is he now?' Grace to star. The screenplay has now been revised and updated by State of Play writer Billy Ray (no, not Cyrus).
With Prince of Persia star Gyllenhaal reviving the project and man of the moment Duncan Jones taking control, the project is sure to make it to screen. »

Jake Gyllenhaal is a step closer to land a role in "Source Code". According to Variety, the actor, who will be seen starring as Prince Dastan in upcoming movie "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time", has been in negotiations with Vendome Pictures and the Mark Gordon Co. to star in the sci-fi film. However, as of the press time there has been no word on the character that will possibly be portrayed by the 28-year-old star.
If Gyllenhaal signs on for "Source Code", he is likely to work together with Duncan Jones. The British filmmaker, who is best known for directing Sam Rockwell-starred movie "Moon", is currently attached to helm the 2011 thriller film, replacing Shane Abbess who was tapped to take the respective duty last year.

You'd think a talented and highly praised actor like Jake Gyllenhaal would have better things to do then pick up Topher Grace's sloppy seconds, especially now that's he about to be an action star as well with Prince Of Persia. But when one of the most promising new directors in town is asking... Moon helmer Duncan Jones will follow-up on his big debut with sci-fi thriller Source Code for Vendome Pictures and distributor Summit. The project had been set-up for Grace at Universal two years... »

There's been plenty of speculation recently as to what director Duncan Jones would be doing for a follow-up to his excellent film Moon. It appeared for a time that it would be a film in the vein of Blade Runner, called Mute, that would be written by Jones as well. It seems that project, which Jones is still writing, will be postponed as the director has officially been announced to helm the new thriller Source Code. Also attached to the film is the Prince of Persia himself, Jake Gyllenhaal. Source Code is about a soldier named Colter (Gyllenhaal) who awakens on a passenger train in another man's body with no idea how he got there. He begins to explore his surroundings and finds a bomb... which blows up, killing him and everyone else on board. The end. Kidding... after the explosion Colter awakens in darkness, strapped to a harness with a monitor in front of him. He »

It appears Jake Gyllenhaal is continuing to branch out from the typical dramatic roles most moviegoers expect from him. The Oscar-nominee will topline next summer's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" and now he's in negotiations to star in the Sci-Fi thriller "Source Code." Variety reports the Summit Entertainment release will find Gyllenhaal playing a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and in a "Groundhog Day" scenario, is forced to relive a deadly train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it. Duncan Jones, who received raves for his indie Sci-Fi flick "Moon,"... »
