Zac Efron has attended the U.K. premiere of his latest movie "Me and Orson Welles". Coming to the event that was held at Vue West End in London on Wednesday night, November 18, the 22-year-old was seen donning a formal outfit. At that time, he posed for pics at the red carpet without the companion of his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.
Joining Efron was Claire Danes, who stars as his on-screen lover Sonja Jones. The blonde beauty opted to sport a black gown. Some other cast ensemble for the Richard Linklater-directed movie, such as Ben Chaplin, Janie Dee, Megan Maczko, and Kelly Reilly, were all in attendance as well.
Beside the film's cast, other Hollywood celebs were also photographed attending the premiere. "Confessions of a Shopaholic" actor Hugh Dancy as well as "Pride and Glory" star Carmen Ejogo were seen among the guests.

Warner Home Video just announced a new program where you can upgrade several of your DVD titles to Blu-ray for as low as $7.95, and right now the price doesn't go any higher than $9.95. This is a similar program to the Red2Blu offer they made allowing customers to upgrade their HD DVD titles to Blu-ray, a program I actually took advantage of and loved it as a result.
The process to upgrade is simple. Consumers select the titles they want to upgrade on DVD2Blu.com, mail in their standard DVDs with pre-paid postage and a short time later receive copies of the same film on Blu-ray Disc. Consumers who place orders over $25 will receive free shipping. For a complete list of titles visit DVD2Blu.com, but I have included the most recent list of titles and prices directly below. 10,000 B.C. ($9.95) Rush Hour 3 ($9.95) Full Metal Jacket ($9.95) Pan's »

Warner Bros. has announced a DVD to Blu-ray upgrade program. While the list doesn’t include all their titles, it’s at least a start. According to WB, the process to upgrade is simple. Consumers select the titles they want to upgrade on DVD2Blu.com, mail in their standard DVDs with pre-paid postage and a short time later receive copies of the same film on Blu-ray Disc. If you mail in one DVD, it’s $7.95 plus shipping. If you order more than $25, you’ll receive free shipping.
While some people haven’t been converted to Blu-ray, I’m all in. I think the picture quality is amazing on Blu-ray and I definitely see a difference between DVD and the HD format. All I can say is, if you have an 1080p TV, the format is absolutely worth the investment. For a complete list of what WB is willing to »

We were beginning to wonder if Leaves of Grass, a pot comedy thriller starring Edward Norton in the role(s) of identical twins, had hit a buzz or release snag. Or worse: try to recall the actor's Pride and Glory from last year. But judging by this new, rapid-clip trailer, complete with Norton pronouncing "crystal meth" in a thick country accent, Leaves might have yielded a nice return on a visual gag so infamously exploited by Van Damme actioners. Add in wretched black light posters, scenes with Susan Sarandon as the twins' knowing mom, and Richard Dreyfuss channeling Nic Cage's iguana rage, and it's worth a laugh. Here is the official plot synopsis, which we posted last summer. At first I was inclined to add a spoiler warning, but nothing is revealed herein that is not evident in the trailer: "Edward Norton is Bill Kincaid, an Ivy League classics professor, »

A father's expectations. A son's dream. A brother's rivalry.
Runt of the Litter is the acclaimed, semi-autobiographical one-man show (soon to be a major motion picture) chronicles volatile family dynamics as well as triumph despite great odds. Always considered too small to play football, former Houston Oiler Bo Eason developed-then never deviated from-a 20-year-plan to go pro. But his plan didn't include a more talented older brother whose success would forever eclipse his own.
Written and performed by Bo Eason and directed by Larry Moss, Runt of the Litter opens in the final hour of Jack Henry's lifelong dream, with only one thing that stands in his way: his brother. The play closely examines what happens to two brothers in a family of overachievers: when their parents assure their oldest son that he is the one destined for football superstardom, and they tell their youngest son he is too small to compete. »

Man this photo is contrasty! A few weeks back we brought you the very first spy shot of the four members of The A-Team shooting in in Canada (and the first photo of the van roaming around as well). Now we have the actual first official photo from Fox for Joe Carnahan's The A-Team for your viewing pleasure. It was sent over to us by the SalonDelMal blog, but it's popping up everywhere, so I'm sure you find it anywhere. I've gotta say, from the looks of it, they really did choose a perfect cast for this. They all look badass and they're all pretty damn talented too (except Quinton Jackson?). Anyway, take a look at the big full photo below! This Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, Pride and Glory) directed and Michael Brandt / Derek Haas (Wanted) written adaptation of the 1980's TV show is about a group of ex-Army »

We have added the first trailer for director Martin Campbell’s upcoming thriller, “Edge of Darkness“.
In “Edge of Darkness” Mel Gibson plays Thomas Craven a veteran homicide detective for the Boston Police Department and a single father. When his only child, 24-year-old Emma, is murdered on the steps of his home, everyone assumes that he was the target. But he soon suspects otherwise, and embarks on a mission to find out about his daughter’s secret life and her killing. His investigation leads him into a dangerous looking-glass world of corporate cover-ups, government collusion and murder — and to shadowy government operative Darius Jedburgh who has been sent in to clean up the evidence. Craven’s solitary search for answers about his daughter’s death transforms into an odyssey of emotional discovery and redemption.

A few weeks back we featured the first photo of the infamous van from The A-Team. Now we finally have a photo showing all four lead actors that are part of the "team" shooting up in Vancouver. ComingSoon has the photo and it's not the greatest quality, but for some reason I'm just excited seeing this. From left to right there is: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson looking a bit upset, Liam Neeson with some short grey hair, Sharlto Copley looking pretty much the same, and Bradley Cooper looking a little more sleek. As I already said, it's just exciting (for me at least) to see the four of these guys standing together. Can't wait for more photos! Yep, there it is, kickin' up dust and driving around the Canadian backcountry. Splash News has landed the first few photos of the iconic black van from The A-Team being chased around British Columbia, Canada. Yes, we already know who's in the cast, yes we already know that this is shooting, yes we already know that Joe Carnahan is directing, and yes, now we know the van is back. There's really nothing more to say about this. I mean, it's a van, and it's supposedly got the A-Team in the back of it, but they're probably not there in this shot. Splash ends this the best: "There's no catching this testosterone-fueled, four-wheeled hellcat." This Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, Pride and Glory) directed and Michael Brandt / Derek Haas (Wanted) written adaptation of the 1980's TV show is about a group of ex-Army Special Forces who work as soldiers while being on »

Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley (”District 9″) are in final negotiations to join Fox’s “The A-Team.”
Once these two are officially on board the cast will be complete with Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
The story keeps the premise of the classic 80’s TV series but will take a more serious tone with the story of four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from a military prison to become mercenaries helping the impoverished.
Copley will portray helicopter pilot Capt. “Howling Mad” Murdock, a role originated by Dwight Schultz in the original series. Biel’s set to play the ex-love of Cooper’s character “Faceman,” the general pursuing the team.
Bradley Cooper will star as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck. Neeson’s set to play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, the role originated by George Peppard, and Jackson’s on board as Sgt. “B.A.” Baracus, portrayed »

It looks like the fighting arena just might be the new hot spot for fresh talent. First we had news of Mma fighter Gina Carano leading a Steven Soderbergh picture, and now THR reports that Ufc fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has stepped up to fill the role of B.A. Baracus (a role made iconic by Mr. T) in the upcoming big screen adaptation of The A-Team. Before today's official news, rappers-turned-actors like The Game and Common were rumored to fill the role, but it looks like Baracus needed a bit more muscle. Jackson joins the already confirmed Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson in the movie, which is shooting now. This Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, Pride and Glory) directed adaptation of the 1980's TV show is about a group of ex-Army Special Forces who work as soldiers while being on the run from the military for a crime they didn't commit. »

I love a lot of people involved with Pride and Glory, and I know about Edward Norton’s diva behavior, but there’s little I can do to forgive the nearly interminable Pride and Glory. One of the films boned by the New Line-Warner Brothers absorption, the film came out and died. Nothing better could have happened. Norton plays Ray Tierney, a cop who’s been on the bottom side of things and is bumped up when four cops get killed. His family are all cops, including his father Francis (Jon Voight) and his brother Francis (Noah Emmerich) and brother in law Jimmy Eagan (Colin Farrell). Of course, the shooting is suspect, and that’s the main focus of the narrative, but you keep waiting for the film to either present a truth or have enough dramatic hutzpah to keep the narrative twisting. But Farrell is the bad egg, and »

Two prominent young(ish) actors face off for a gritty cop drama in 2008.s Pride and Glory. Set in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan, Pride starts with notice that four police officers got killed during a raid. Obviously this doesn.t sit well with the department, and it creates a lot of tension among the cops.
Chief of Detectives Francis Tierney (Jon Voight) wants someone he can trust to take the case, so he stays close to home: his son Ray (Edward Norton) receives the assignment. Still gun-shy after an event that left him with a nasty scar on his cheek, Ray resists the assignment, but eventually he succumbs to his father.s pressure.
As he investigates, Ray quickly tabs a thug named Angel Tezo (Ramon Rodriguez) as one of the culprits. However, the trail doesn.t end there. Before long, we learn that police involvement occurred . involvement that »

Pictured (clockwise from upper left): Pride and Glory, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, RockNRolla, Hulk Vs.
I'm shocked -- shocked!! -- that I can recommend a rental on all four featured titles. I'll search more diligently for titles to skip in coming weeks.
Woody Allen's sojourn across Europe continues in this critically-praised comedy / drama / romance, featuring the Academy Award-nominated Penélope Cruz, plus Javier Bardem, Scarlett Johansson, and Rebecca Hall. James Rocchi called it "a bright, cool comedy of manners and mores, as refreshing and subtly intoxicating as a tall drink of sangria." Also on Blu-ray. Rent it.
Though some unfavorably compared it with We Own the Night, I much preferred Gavin O'Connor's striking, stirring New York City police 'brothers and father at odds' drama. Sure, it's familiar territory, but it struck me as piercing and emotionally authentic. With Colin Farrell, Edward Norton, Jon Voight, »

Blu-Ray Rating: 2.0/5.0 Chicago – The Blu-Ray package for Gavin O’Connor’s “Pride and Glory” features shots of stars Edward Norton and Colin Farrell wielding guns on both the front and back of the case. The artistic intention is clear - Try and sell this generic, dull cop drama as an action film, as that’s the genre that takes off on the home market. Don’t buy it.
“Pride and Glory” is most interesting as an example of how even a talented group of actors can go shockingly awry if the script doesn’t work. I think the very-talented Norton and Farrell both thought they were making a movie about characters with gray moral codes like Vic Mackey from “The Shield” or Bud White from “L.A. Confidential,” but they ended up making a flick with all good or bad and no degrees in between. Gray is interesting. Black and white is boring and conventional. »
