Storyline

The Secret Box: Patrick has a box and he won't show SpongeBob what's inside of it because it's a secret. SpongeBob can't believe Patrick would keep something from him and he pretends not to care what's inside the box, but secretly it's driving him crazy. In the end, SpongeBob's curiosity gets the better of him and he breaks into the Rock at night to steal the box. When SpongeBob discovers nothing inside he is sorely disappointed and leaves. Afterwards, Patrick is grateful that SpongeBob never found his secret compartment inside his secret box. Band Geeks: When Squidward's rival from High School starts bragging to him about being a successful bandleader, Squidward lies and claims he has a successful band as well. His rival offers to let Squidward and his band pinch hit for him at the famous Bubble Bowl. Squidward jumps at the chance and then realizes he doesn't have a band and needs to get one fast. The secret box is a masterpiece with a intelligent plot twist
29 December 2016 | by (Gothenburg, Sweden) – See all my reviews

Band Geeks is a very good episode, in fact it's one of the very best. I won't tell you why, since other users already explained that in perfect detail. Anyhow the plot is basically about Squidward starting a band, with his nemesis showing up for the first time. Great episode!

BUT THE SECRET BOX!!! The secret box is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Everything about it is genius. It contains possibly the best plot-twist in all literature and television ever created, even surpassing such classics as "The Usual Suspects". In addition, it is a pure comedy goldmine!

An obvious 10/10.
