No. It was taken from a screenplay written by American crime writer Lawrence Block.
My Blueberry Nights is about a man named Jeremy [Jude Law] who works at a coffee shop and has a very boring life. Nothing interesting happens to him until he meets Elizabeth [Norah Jones]. Meanwhile, Elizabeth travels to different parts of the USA and runs into Leslie [Natalie Portman], a not-so-stable woman.
The coffee shop, now out of business, was called Cafe Palacenka and was in the Soho district of New York City, on Grand Street, right near Thompson. It was gutted not long after the film was shot.
