Kirk and a woman (with green skin) kiss suggestively in bed: he is wearing only boxers, she is wearing bra and panties, he kisses her breasts and thrusts briefly before being interrupted by her returning roommate, Uhura (Kirk hides under the bed). While hiding, he watches Uhura undress down to her bra and panties, before she realizes there's a man under the bed. Kirk runs out of the room, wearing only his underwear.During an earlier bar fight, Kirk is punched and accidentally stumbles into Uhura, inadvertently placing his hands on her clothed breasts (they both look surprised, and she pushes him away immediately). There is a passionate romantic scene between Uhura and Spock, in which the two kiss tenderly, and she hugs him and caresses his head and neck. Kirk tries to flirt with Uhura during the bar sequence. He tells her, "You've got a talented tongue" (we are told she is a linguist, but there is the double-entendre meaning of oral sex). Uhura replies that she is surprised he "Doesn't only have sex with farm animals" and he replies "not only."
The film contains frequent instances of science-fiction violence and peril. Most of the violence is not graphic, rather it is suggestive and intense. Some of these acts of violence include:- An intense opening sequence depicting a space battle in which various people are killed in explosions. One person is visibly hurled into space when a hole is blasted in the hull of the ship.- Captain Robau is stabbed in the chest by a lance, but the scene cuts back to his ship before we see him being stabbed. A computer announces that he died immediately.- A bar fight occurs and Kirk is beaten quite badly to the point where his nose and face bleed. Blood is briefly visible on the hand of one of his attackers. This is perhaps the most intense and bloody of the violent sequences.- The Enterprise warps to a location and is the last to arrive after following the rest of the fleet. Once it arrives, it discovers that the rest of the fleet had been wiped out. Debris and some dead bodies are visible in space.- A fight occurs when Kirk, Sulu and another crewman parachute onto a platform to disable a huge drill. The third man releases his chute too late and falls in the path of the laser drill. . The remaining two men almost fall off the platform when they land and fight intensely with two aliens. One of the aliens is fried by a flaming vent on the platform. The other is stabbed through the back, and the sword is shown protruding from his chest, with green blood visible on the blade. The alien is then kicked off the platform.- A planet is destroyed by a bomb that creates a black hole. Some of its inhabitants are crushed under falling objects or fall to their doom as the planet comes apart.- Spock attacks Kirk when Kirk insults his other's lack of emotions, specifically toward his mother. The fight ends with Spock savagely choking Kirk, only to be restrained by hsi father entering the bridge. This is not as bloody as the earlier bar fight, but it is intense.- Captain Pike is interrogated by aliens, and it is implied that he was "waterboarded," though this is not shown. They force a scorpion-like creature down his mouth, and the alien leader states that it can affect his brain. Although what happens next is not shown, this scene might disturb younger viewers.- Kirk and Spock teleport onto an alien ship and a gunfight ensues. Projectiles from laser weapons fill the entire screen and several aliens are killed. Although the scene is somewhat intense and aliens are clearly shot, it is not graphic.- An alien disarms Kirk on the alien ship and the alien leader threatens him. The leader then hurries to the main bridge of the ship, leaving his henchman to deal with Kirk. Kirk leaps down to a lower platform and is followed by the alien who threatens him. The alien holds him up, but is shot by surprise in the chest and falls to his death.- The alien soldiers' mothership is destroyed by one of the black hole bombs. What happens to them after is left open-ended to the audience.A young boy leaps from a speeding antique car which falls into a gorge and the boy is hanging from the edge.
A few uses of whore and damn, 2 or 3 uses of "bastard", and 1 use of bullshit, but played for comedic effect.Few uses of arse and one goddamn, but there may be two more but highly inaudible. The F-word is uncensored during a song while young Captain Kirk is driving, though it is not very audible.
A bar scene: a woman orders a round of drinks for her and her friends, an intoxicated man starts to hit on her
The opening sequence is both intense and may be disturbing to some younger viewers. There are some intense visual images of an alien world being destroyed. This may be quite unsettling for some. The action scenes are all intense. The scene with a scorpion-like creature being forced down a prisoner's mouth is brief, but grotesque and frightening. There is a very intense scene on the snow/ice planet where a character is chased by a large, ferocious creature. Just as the creature attacks, an enormous monster very suddenly comes out of the ice and kills the creature, and then chases the character, until he enters a cave where a man fends off the creature with fire. The large depiction of this monster, and its roaring might be frightening, especially for younger viewers.
