The morning the Screen Actors Guild announced the nominees for the 16th annual SAG awards. The actual ceremony will be held Saturday, January 23rd. There are a lot of gay-faves on the list of nominees.
For starters, Colin Firth picked up a nomination for A Single Man,and Sigourney Weaver is in the running for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or
Miniseries thanks to Prayers for Bobby.
Freshmen series Glee and Modern Family are competing against each other for Beest TV Comedy Ensemble.
And surprisingly (at least for me) the cast of True Blood is up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
You can check out the full list of nominess after the break!

In 2009, the number of leading lesbian characters on primetime broadcast TV doubled — from one to two.
Out of the estimated 600 lead and supporting characters on network TV, seven of them of are lesbian or bisexual. And of those seven, five of them kissed women last year. And of those five, three of them made out during Sweeps.
Things looked bleak at the beginning of the year, but with the growing trend of lesbian brides getting gunned down or cheating on their wedding days, and the continued trend of bisexual characters only expressing their same-sex attraction during Sweeps, and the loss of Showtime's lesbian drama The L Word, we're ending the year on a downward spiral in terms of lesbian visibility.

The most surprising story in 2009 was the relationship between Callie Torres (played by Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (played by Jessica Capshaw) on Grey's Anatomy.

Zachary Quinto won't reprise his role as Spock from 2009's "Stark Trek" in Cryptic Studios' 2010 Mmo "Star Trek Online," but he will voice act for an Emergency Medical Hologram and the game's tutorial. The actor who first rose to prominence for his role as Sylar on NBC's "Heroes," revealed his new Trek job at Spike's Video Game Awards over the weekend, and Atari has reportedly confirmed the news.
"Being a part of the Star Trek universe has been an incredible experience for me," Quinto said, according to Destructoid. "Extending that experience into the gaming space, and sharing it with gamers and Trek enthusiasts around the world, makes it even more exciting."
The Emergency Medical Hologram has rich history in the Star Trek universe, most famously in "Star Trek: Voyager" where the program was portrayed by Robert Picardo. Quinto also joins a legacy that includes Andy Dick, who picked up the part in one episode.

Heroes star Ali Larter has bought a home in the Hollywood Hills for $2.95 million. The 2007 Brian Murphy-designed three-storey pad has an open floor plan with 511sq m of interior space and walls of glass. An upper sun deck overlooks a flat lawn on the one-hectare block. The master bedroom suite has a fireplace, balcony, wardrobe room and bathroom with spa tub and steam shower. There are four bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms. Model-turned-actress Larter, 33, plays a single mother with extraordinary strength on Heroes, an Emmy-nominated ensemble series that follows the lives of people who discover they have unusual powers. Chuck will air Mondays at 8, Parenthood at 9

I know, I know, you're thinking to yourself, what about Heroes?
NBC has released its midseason schedule, and we can see that Chuck returns on January 11 (after a special two-hour season premiere on January 10) in the Monday at 8Pm slot. The new comedy Parenthood will air at 9, but that show doesn't start until March 1. As for Heroes (which currently airs in the Mondays at 8 slot), the season finale (episode 19 in a slightly shortened season) actually airs on Feburary 8.
In other NBC scheduling news, Jerry Seinfeld's new reality show (now there's a sentence that's really painful to write) The Marriage Ref will air Sundays at 9, between Dateline and Celebrity Apprentice, starting on March 14. What that means is that I probably won't be watching NBC on Sunday nights. Not that I watch NBC Sunday nights now when it has NFL football.

Heroes: Dawn Olivieri Thinks Show Will See Season Five

The days of Heroes being a blockbuster in the ratings are long over. The ratings of this season's episodes have been even lower than last season's, which were pretty bad on their own. That, along with some discontent over storylines, has led to a lot of online speculation that the show is coming to an end. If that's the case, fans won't be too happy to know how season four is ending.
When asked if this season of Heroes was going to end in a satisfying way or with a cliffhanger, actress Dawn Olivieri (Lydia) told Digital Spy, "I would probably go cliffhanger, because that's how you do it these days, right? As for satisfying, I'm not sure. There's definitely gonna be a few surprises that we've been filming recently and it's gonna stir up some trouble. There'll be a lot of buzz, for sure."

Looks like the talented ranks of NCIS guest stars will swell in 2010.
Tomorrow night's episode, "Faith," closes the book on 2009. When the new year's first episode, "Ignition," airs January 5, it will feature some familiar prime-time faces.
Rena Sofer (pictured), who's guested on everything from 24 to Heroes to recent episodes of CBS' Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer, will play a tough-as-nails lawyer.
According to TV Guide, her character on NCIS tangles with her old nemesis, Gibbs (Mark Harmon), when one of her clients is suspected in the murder of a Navy pilot.
Rena Sofer is getting ready to tangle with Gibbs. Too bad for her!
There's more. The possible perp will be played by Marcus Giamatti (brother of actor Paul Giamatti), who spent six seasons as Amy's brother Peter on Judging Amy.
Plus, his ex-wife, who'll also play a role, will be played by Melinda Page Hamilton, known to Mad Men fans as Anna Draper,

Because Heroes is currently filming its final episode of season four, creator Tim Kring can say with "complete clarity" that Adrian Pasdar won't return to the series.
The actor's character leaped to his death on "The Fifth Stage," the final Heroes installment of 2009.
“We started discussing it at the end of last season, when we actually killed the character,” Kring told Fancast.com in an interview, “so it really just became a matter of how and when.”
Nathan might be gone, but his relatives Peter and Claire remain. How will his death impact their relationship?
“They are able to sort of bond over the loss of their brother and father,” Kring said. “So you will see those stories start to collide.”
When Heroes returns - with a two-hour episode on January 4; and then at 9 p.m. on Mondays, following Chuck, beginning on January 11 - Samuel’s seemingly sinister plan will

On the twelfth day of Festivus, TV gave to me ... twelve shows a'stinkin'!
Being the endless wasteland that it is, television has no shortage of bad product. Mind you, "bad" is always a matter of opinion. This year saw the end of According to Jim after eight years of decent ratings while in terms of quality it lasted about seven years too long. What follows is my own opinion and at the end of each item in the list, I will quote everybody's favorite critic, Jay Sherman.
12. Heroes - This show was great in the first season, then with only brief glimpses of greatness in the later seasons, the writers and the network proceeded to dump it in the trash, rub it around some sewage and finally make it have a one night stand with Andy Dick. It Stinks!

Californication Season 3 Finale Episode 12: (Mia Culpa)

I’m sad to say that without Kathleen Turner, Californication Season 3 took a small nosedive in Episode 11, “Comings & Goings.”
The conflicted drama between Hank Moody and his inner struggle to choose his love for Karen over a quick ejaculation was trivialized down to a mediocre episode of “How Hank got Me.” Episode 11 actually felt more like the season finale. All the major conflicts of the season have already been concluded. Hank’s love pentagon has been resolved, with Karen once again coming out on top. While at the Runkles, Marcy and Charlie seem to have put aside their indiscretions to continue their marriage.
What else can happen this season to make you watch? How about the return of Mia? That's right, after a season of Heroes, Madeline Zima is back on Showtime. The girl who fucked and punched Hank will be making a surprise visit to shake things
