Over the years, the making-of documentaries featured on DVDs have become more and more complex, more in depth, and in many cases, more unnecessary. Such is the case of KILL SHOT: THE MAKING OF FINAL DESTINATION 3. Shot from pre-production of FD3 up until post-production, it follows basically every step of the film-making process, which would be great if the documentary was actually well done and the movie in question was actually deserving of an hour and a half long documentary on the subject. Instead, a lot of what is seen and heard seems for promotional purposes only. Producers hype up their film, talk about how supposedly deep it is, how it's not just another teen slasher picture, etc. I'm not buying it. Director James Wong comes across as having sort of a big ego while co-writer Glen Morgan is barely given enough time to speak. I enjoyed watching FD3 in theaters with an audience that reacted strongly to it, watching it again on DVD it's not that special. Neither are the DVD's bonus features. 2/10
