The Pink Panther 2 is the sequel to The Pink Panther (2006) and, as such, is the second film in the rebooted series.

Beyoncé Knowles chose not to return for a sequel after reading the screenplay. Kevin Kline couldn't return due to a prior commitment. [source needed] Kline's character, Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus (who was played by Herbert Lom in the original series), is played by John Cleese.
