This is one of a number of short films that have recently been posted on IMDb for viewing in the US. Hopefully it will be shown in other countries as well in the near future--especially because it's an amazingly good film--so good, I hope some studio jumps at the idea of making this isn't a full-length films.
In a plot somewhat like THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (and its remakes, OMEGA MAN and I AM LEGEND), the world as we know it has fallen apart and society is practically nonexistent. This apocalyptic mess is the result of Avian Flu which has not only killed the birds but has also mutated and infected the human race. As a result, rules and norms have fallen by the wayside and it's a "dog eat dog" world.
The story concerns one particular family as they try to survive and make it through this tough time. The problem is that fuel is running out as is the food and the surviving neighbors are coming...
The film is exceptionally tense and hard to watch in places due to its brutality. However, it's also very well made and deserves to be seen and appreciated--just not by young and impressionable kids.
