The past ten years have been great -- we have embraced on a new journey through the millennium and thanks to pop culture we had many great friends along for the ride. People Magazine worked with Sims to create an image that would incorporate all things popular in the past ten years and the picture is worth a thousand words. Find out who made the cut, which movies were featured, and which love birds were caught snuggling. People asked the folks at Sims to try and encompass the past ten years into a picture and what they came up with is incredible. They wanted to create a picture that would target the 9-14 demographic, but sadly these films and people are not only swooned over by tweens. Sims made sure to add the hottest films including Harry Potter, High School Musical, and Twilight. They also added key musicians Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift,

Muse, Robert Pattinson, Linkin Park, Paramore . . . you know the names. These are all fantastic artists that made their way onto a little soundtrack called Twilight last year. A soundtrack which made its way to the top of the Billboard 200 list (to be followed by its certified platinum sequel New Moon), in ... r O Brother, Where Art Thou?, High School Musical, 8 Mile, Hannah Montana, High School Musical 2, and Hannah Montana 2 (okay, so no one said these were all the greatest choices), Twilight comes in taking the lead above heavy-hitters like Shrek, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Mamma Mia!, The Cheetah Girls, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Coyote Ugly, Bad Boys II, Ray, Tupac: Resurrection, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Get Rich Or Die Tryin', The Cheetah Girls 2, Walk The Line, Camp Rock, and Garden State.

Zac Efron may be dropping out of "Footloose" to avoid stereotype-casting, but his "Hairspray" co-star, Nikki Blonsky, is crossing fingers that he will be back for "Hairspray 2: White Lipstick". Asked by PopEater whether Efron will return as Link Larkin, the 21-year-old responded, "Where would Tracy be without Link?"
The Tracy Turnblad depicter went on to say that she hopes he will do another Link portrayal, before adding, "He is the only Link in my heart." Pressed further on the romance between Tracy and Link in the sequel, she admitted that she has no idea, but added, "I can only imagine they would still be together. Tracy and Link are the 'Hairspray' couple."
Long before "Hairspray 2" got its working title, director Adam Shankman has mentioned that Zac Efron's Link will be bringing out his inner Austin Powers. To Entertainment Weekly, the filmmaker behind "Bedtime Stories" elaborated that the

He's certainly a star in his own right (featured in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and to-be-featured in sure-to-be-blockbusters Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II), but Jamie Campbell Bower seemed humble when apologizing for the fact that co-star Robert Pattinson was unavailable to present at this year's EA Children's Awards show (Children's BAFTAs).
Bower presented the award for "Best Feature Film," with Coraline winning against the other candidates (Bolt, Coraline, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs).
Bower mentioned, in giving the award, that the winner was his personal favorite. Perhaps it's because his New Moon co-star and fellow Volturi member Dakota Fanning

Vanessa Hudgens is featured in a new bloopers clip which sees the mistakes Neutrogena's spokesmodels had made when filming commercials for the famous skin care products. Brought forth by Just Jared Jr., the short video offers a look at the "High School Musical" actress giggling and bouncing when noticing that she has made errors.
In addition to the Zac Efron's girlfriend, those included in the clip are "Hotel for Dogs" beauty Emma Roberts, "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere, "Bring It On" actress Gabrielle Union, and former Miss USA Susie Castillo. All of them are seen showing off various face expressions upon realizing the mistakes they made during the filming.

Zac Efron has opened up about the daredevil stunt he performed when he was in production for "Charlie St. Cloud". Being a guest at "Late Show with David Letterman", the leading man of the "High School Musical" series admitted to host David Letterman he had done some bungee jumps while filming for the movie in Vancouver, Canada.
"We [my friends and I] had this brilliant idea to wake up in the morning and go bungee jumping which isn't really a good idea when you're in production, because you've signed various contracts saying you won't," the 22-year-old recalled on his thrill-seeking act. "You can divide the world into guys who will do it and guys who won't do it. I'm definitely one who will."
The boyfriend of fellow "HSM" star, Vanessa Hudgens, went on detailing, "It's a pretty surreal feeling to be honest. I did kind of a back flip when I went off. Falling face first.

A little over a year ago, Zac Efron was riding high as "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" had made a boatload of money at the box office. Privately, Efron was no doubt thrilled his commitment to the franchise that launched his career was officially over because he'd already moved on to more serious and challenging work. In fact, less than six weeks before "HSM3" opened, Richard Linkletter's "Me and Orson Welles" made its debut at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival featuring Efron and a classy ensemble of actors including Claire Danes, Ben Chaplin, Eddie Marsan and Christian McKay on board.

High School Musical Heads To China

High School Musical is heading east - the hit teen franchise is to be re-made for the Chinese movie market.
The big screen musical series launched the careers of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, who played high-school sweethearts from rival social groups.
The franchise has been highly successful, with the films moving from TV to movie theatres with 2008's High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and a fourth film is already in production. The films also spawned a stage show, a best-selling soundtrack, a book series and video games.
And now Disney bosses are hoping to expand into the lucrative Asian market by remaking the original film with a Chinese cast and a new screenplay.
Jason Reed, general manager of Walt Disney Studios international production, tells Variety.com, "We wrote an original screenplay from the ground up. This is inspired by the spirit of the first one. The young stars are not as well known as they will be soon. The key for us was that they could sing and dance and whether they had the energy and charisma needed."
Disney High School Musical: China is shooting in Shanghai and is slated for a summer 2010 release.

As a new horror sensation rose, another fell over the weekend. Paranormal Activity rolled out into more theaters and claimed the top spot, in part because the new releases were non-starters, including the latest movie in the usually reliable Saw franchise. Overall business was down 11 percent from last year, which featured the one-two punch of High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Saw V, but was still solid for the timeframe.
Jumping to approximately 2,500 screens at 1,945 sites (more than doubling last weekend's counts), Paranormal Activity raked in an estimated $22 million, and its total grew to $62.5 million in 31 days. While still far from The Blair Witch Project, the supernatural horror movie is on track to becoming one of the higher grossing entries in its sub-genre and has already surpassed the final tallies of White Noise and The Haunting in Connecticut.
Saw VI had by far the most anemic start of its franchise,

MovieTickets.com said This Is It had knocked The Fellowship of the Ring of the 25th place in the chart.
The Jacko film documents the star's preparations for his planned 50-date concert series and will be released on October 28. Sony Pictures edited hundreds of hours of rehearsal footage to create the movie after paying $60million for the film rights.

Moviegoers came back for a second helping of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but the new items on the menu, Surrogates and Fame, didn't fly. That led to a weekend that was off seven percent from the same timeframe last year when Eagle Eye landed. Standing as the only broadly appealing movie among recent releases, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs dissipated by a mere 19 percent, generating an estimated $24.6 million and lifting its total to a solid $60 million in ten days. Its drop was less than such comparable titles as Open Season, Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little, though it may have a steeper decline in its third weekend, when the Toy Story double feature will claim much of its 3D attention. Surrogates plugged in with an estimated $15 million on approximately 3,600 screens at 2,951 sites, or a fraction of what the similar I, Robot started at. The science fiction thriller

We know how it is: You’d like to go to the movies this weekend, but you just gotta sing, gotta dance, gotta get a B in algebra so you can get into Julliard. But you can have a multiplex-like experience at home with a collection of the right DVDs. And when someone asks you on Monday, “Hey, did you check out that remake of Fame this weekend?” you can reply, “No, I went back to school in other musical theater ways.”
Instead Of: Fame, the new updating of the classic 1980 film (I guess the kids all have cell phones and text their angst and despair to their friends instead of just talking about it)...
Watch: The original Fame is, of course, your best place to start -- 30 years on, the movie is still relevant to the hearts and minds of teens, and still a sheer delight. If you need more all-singing,

Two days prior to the theatrical release of "Fame", the city of angels played host to a Los Angeles premiere for the musical drama. Black dominated the special screening event that took place at Pacific Theatres at The Grove as the usual red carpet was replaced with a black one to welcome the celebrities attending.
Some of the stars of the remake film opted to dress up for the premiere, while some others chose to go with a casual look. Naturi Naughton wore a shiny purple mermaid gown, Asher Book suited up in a slate gray suit completed with white sneakers, and Kay Panabaker was dressed in a Ports 1961 flowing, knee-length red and purple dress with beaded neckline. Collins Pennie, on the other hand, styled himself in black with a green jacket as a top off.
Joining those four bringing the glam to the black carpet were their co-stars, Kelsey Grammer,

Thursday, September 3, has seen the Los Angeles premiere of Summit Entertainment's horror thriller "Sorority Row". Their co-stars, Leah Pipes and Margo Harshman, however chose to go with a lighter color. Pipes went with light magenta, while Harshman wore an ivory white gown.

Labor Day weekend is coming up, and it's a holiday that marks the end of the summer movie season along with summer itself. All the kids are heading back to the classroom for another dreaded year of school and (for those in L.A. like myself) the weather starts to cool... hopefully. While fall usually isn't seen as a cinematic hotbed, with the blockbuster summer season over, there are still plenty of quality films to check out at the box office. This year we have Megan Fox's possessed body, a sensational animated film and a new zombie adventure. There's a lot more that I'm looking forward to this fall, so here is a comphrehensive look at what you can expect from this fall movie season.
