Josh Brolin Make-Out Scene With Megan Fox Is "Ultimate Revenge"

15 December 2009 8:42 AM, PST | Celebuzz.com | See recent Celebuzz news »

Josh Brolin really knows how to get back at a gal. In the sexiest way humanly possible. The Milk actor recently admitted—okay, more like "bragged"—to the Daily Star that he viewed his love scenes with Megan Fox in the upcoming comic-book adaptation Jonah Hex as an opportunity to get back at his wife, actress Diane Lane, for her on-screen canoodling with Richard Gere, Viggo Mortensen and Olivier Martinez. Brolin revealed, with what we can only imagine was  a caddish smirk on his face, "I made out with Megan Fox, which was nice. Everybody says it's very uncomfortable doing love scenes. My wife has …

He has had the fortune of having only one directing nod to his credit with the docu film and landing a major Hollywood production, but has managed to grab a top tier acting talent, not once - but twice. I wouldn't be a surprised if Sean Penn had made a mention, but Josh Brolin is taking the lead role which was originally assigned to his Milk co-star Penn. Brolin Revelled In Kissing Fox

11 December 2009 11:16 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Josh Brolin made the most of his love scenes with sexy Megan Fox during filming for Jonah Hex, because he wanted to take "revenge" on his actress wife Diane Lane for all of her steamy onscreen clinches.

The Milk actor plays disfigured bounty hunter Hex in the Western, a big screen adaptation of the popular comic books, with Fox - who is regularly named as one of the sexiest women in the world - as his love interest.

And he admits he revelled in the opportunity to make Lane envious because she has enjoyed romancing leading men like Richard Gere, Viggo Mortensen and French actor Olivier Martinez over the years.

He says, "I made out with Megan Fox, which was nice.

"Everybody says it's very uncomfortable doing love scenes. My wife has done a few movies with a couple of love scenes, maybe this was maybe a revenge of mine, of some sort. If you look at it from that perspective, it's kind of like the ultimate revenge. Megan Fox is the ultimate revenge, you hear what I'm saying?"

Brolin struggled to overcome the obstacle of heavy make-up to kiss Fox, but eventually managed to master his technique.

He adds, "The thing is for me, I had a prosthetic on my face because as Jonah Hex, the character, half of my face is burned, so it's kind of difficult to figure out to get your tongue around (the mouthpiece). I'd love to say it was really, really tough but it went really smoothly." …

Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman Discuss The 'Danger' Of 'Invictus' Roles

11 December 2009 3:50 AM, PST | MTV Movie News | See recent MTV Movie News news »

'The challenge is to get that nailed in such a way you're not laughable,' Morgan Freeman says of portraying Nelson Mandela.

From "Ray" to "Hotel Rwanda," from "Monster" to "Milk," the Hollywood biopic has proved to be a rich source of both storytelling and awards-season recognition. Often, though, it is the legacies of the real-life people who the likes of Charlize Theron and Sean Penn portray — rather than their accents, their mannerisms, their quirks — that have stayed in the public consciousness.

Not so in the case of "Invictus," the true story of Nelson Mandela and the South African national rugby squad's World Cup journey in 1995. Morgan Freeman plays Mandela and Matt Damon plays Francois Pienaar, the team's captain and a hero in his native land.

Directors of the Decade: Gus Van Sant

10 December 2009 5:47 PM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Robert here, continuing my series of the directors that shaped the past 10 years. Most of the directors I’ve written about have been either newcomers or have taken their earlier success and continued it into the aughts. Not many have reinvented themselves for this decade. But today’s man did: Gus Van Sant

Number of Films: Six

Modern Masterpieces: Oh who’s to say. I don’t expect this to be echoed but I’m going with Gerry.

Total Disasters: No. Psycho was last decade.

Better than you remember: All three entries in the death trilogy have gotten somewhat of a bad rep.

Awards: Nominated for Best Director for Milk and the Palme D’or for Elephant

Box Office: With over 51 mil, Finding Forrester understandably tops the more experimental fare.

Critical Consensus: With a Rotten Tomatoes score over 90%, Milk understandably tops the more experimental fare.

Favorite Actor: Matt Damon in …

Josh Brolin could replace Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black 3

9 December 2009 3:55 PM, PST | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

No Country For Old Men star Josh Brolin could be replacing Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black 3. The 41-year-old actor, who has appeared in movies such as Milk and The Goonies, is reportedly being considered for a role in the third movie in the sci-fi series. His exact part is still being discussed but there has allegedly been talk that he will replace Jones as Agent K. Other claims say he might play a new agent or play a younger version of Agent K. Sony is still deciding on a production start date for the movie and the flick is based on a script by Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen, bringing Barry Sonnenfeld

Josh Brolin to Join "Men in Black 3?"

9 December 2009 10:45 AM, PST | Manny the Movie Guy | See recent Manny the Movie Guy news »

After "No Country for Old Men," Josh Brolin's star has been rising! The actor is now known as the hardest working man in show business (sorry Nicolas Cage). After "Milk" and "W," Brolin will be next seen on "Jonah Hex" and the sequel to "Wall Street" from Oliver Stone.

Now, he may be zapping aliens in "Men in Black 3."

The La Times told us that:

The actor is being considered for a role that would have him donning the black suit and shades for the third installment of the sci-fi comedy franchise. His exact part is a matter of discussion, but in recent days there's been chatter in Hollywood development circles of a few possibilities: He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely. …

Josh Brolin could be going from "W." to K.

With "No Country for Old Men," "Milk," "W.," and, of course, "The Goonies" on his resume, Brolin's filmography speaks for itself. Now he may be adding "Men in Black 3" to that estimable list.

Josh Brolin to be a Man In Black?

9 December 2009 6:26 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Our favourite Goonie appears to be up for a role in the next Men In Black film. The L.A. Times is  running a story that Josh Brolin is being considered for a starring role in Men In Black 3, a film that will hopefully improve on the second installment.

Following his stellar turns in Milk and No Country for Old Men Brolin is carving out a very interesting career in Hollywood, able to take on a variety of roles and make each character memorable and unique.

Quite why he’s orbiting a threequel of a series that failed to make good on the promise of the first film is a little curious. Joining Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in the last suit he’ll ever wear is an odd choice but he’ll no doubt be a fascinating addition to the team.

Josh Brolin may suit up for 'Men in Black 3'

8 December 2009 7:01 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Maybe call it "No Country for Old Aliens"? Josh Brolin may be reuniting with co-star Tommy Lee Jones for the third "Men in Black" movie.

According to the La Times' Hero Complex blog, Brolin is in talks to play an unspecified role in the embryonic threequel.

"Men in Black" wouldn't be an odd move: Brolin is no stranger to comic-book films, what with his lead role in the upcoming "Jonah Hex." Plus he and Jones have similar features and slow, drawling accents, both of which open up family possibilities. (Or, we suppose, flashbacks, though that was already covered in the first movie.)

The first two movies followed agents J (Will Smith) and K (Jones) as members of a super-secret law enforcement organization tasked with monitoring Earth's hidden alien population.

Heck, while we're plundering "No Country," bring back Javier Bardem in that pageboy haircut. We never thought he was human.

'SNL': The Battle of Andy Samberg's shorts

7 December 2009 7:20 PM, PST | Zap2It - The Dish Rag | See recent Zap2It - The Dish Rag news »

"Saturday Night Live's" super funnyman Andy Samberg sure has some hilarious, sometimes colorful, sometimes risque and off-putting shorts. So The Dish Rag thought we should ask our Zap2it readers to help choose a Samberg champ. Can you please help a brother out after the jump.

Wait, you didn't actually think we were asking readers to vote in a frivolous fashion poll. We reserve those for monumental, life-altering Hollywood events and occasions like ... the MTV VMAs and Teen Choice Awards.

Anyway, of course we were referring to Andy Samberg's wildly popular "SNL" digital shorts. On the Dec. 5 episode hosted by "Gossip Girl's" Blake Lively (a.k.a. Our goddess Queen Serena van der Woodsen), Samberg took on rap persona "Shy Ronnie" alongside musical guest Rihanna producing the usual side-splitting results.

We're sure hoping "SNL" honcho Lorne Michaels and the higher powers are cooking up some Samberg specials …

First Look: James Franco as Allen Ginsberg

3 December 2009 9:44 PM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Now that the Sundance 2010 line-up is out (competition and non-competition both released this week), we will start to see some preview images coming out from many of the much-anticipated films. First up is Howl, in which James Franco plays revered beat poet Allen Ginsberg. The story follows Ginsberg as he defends his poem "Howl" during his 1957 obscenity trial. Below, we see not only Franco as Ginsberg, but also Mad Men star Jon Hamm. Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, the film will also star Mary-Louise Parker, Jeff Daniels and David Strathairn. This is just one of many films that I will be keeping an eye on at Sundance in January. I'm excited to see James Franco -- who has been equal parts brilliant in films like Pineapple Express and Milk -- take on yet another dramatic role. And a lead role, nonetheless. Here's hoping that it will turn out well. We'll …

You say something, and you're keeping the story alive. It's bad, bad news."

David Thomson on Frank Langella

'Frank Langella's role in The Box could easily win an Oscar for best 10-minute performance in a film with no other redeeming feature'

Frank Langella will be 72 on New Year's Day, and he is ready. I was going to add "at last". Because for decades he seemed an uneasy actor on screen. His stage reputation was beyond dispute, and people said that he looked the part – tall, dark and thirsty – when he did Dracula (1979). But he wasn't ready. Something in his lofty mien suggested that he scorned movies, or simply didn't know how to behave in them. But now … well, if the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences goes on changing its own rules the way they seem inclined, Langella's role in The Box could easily win an Oscar for best 10-minute performance in a film with no other redeeming feature.

PGA Honors Precious.

18 November 2009 3:18 PM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Jose here with some award news.

Continuing to establish itself as a front runner in the awards race, Precious: Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire, has been chosen by the Producers Guild of America to receive its prestigious Stanley Kramer Award for illuminating provocative social issues in an accessible and elevating fashion.

This award not only confirms the movie will be one of the ten chosen by the PGA for its Producer of the Year award, but bodes well for its chances of getting even more Oscar attention.

The Academy simply loves social issues (remember 2005?) and Kramer (who directed and produced Inherit the Wind and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner among others) was an icon in this aspect, even if the quality of the films he made didn't amount to much artistically. Stanley's films always talked about things we wanted to ignore. He taught us so much about ourselves …

Interview: What Made “The View”’s Joy Behar So Pro-Gay?

18 November 2009 11:10 AM, PST | AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news »

We’re all seen it: a guest on a TV talk show makes some outrageously bigoted or factually incorrect statement about Glbt people — and the host, who surely knows better, stays absolutely silent, leaving the impression that the statement is either (a) accurate or (b) part of acceptable discourse.

But there’s one bright, shining exception: that kind of thoughtless bigotry never goes unanswered on a talk show hosted by Joy Behar – whether it’s on the long-running female chat-fest The View or the new Hln show The Joy Behar Show (which airs at 9 Pm Et/Pt on Hln). When Joe the Plumber recently said gays can’t be trusted around children, Joy demanded he explain himself.

Even when the interviewee isn’t anti-gay, gay issues frequently come up when Joy is in charge. She had ex-Mormon and Oscar winning Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black on recently to talk about gays in the Mormon Church. …
