Bad luck Miley. It has been announced that the song, “The Climb”, as performed by the pop princess in her movie Hannah Montana: The Movie has been disqualified from competing in this year’s Grammy Awards. The song had scored a nomination in the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media category at the upcoming 52nd annual Grammy Awards, competing against the likes of Paramore’s “Decode” from Twilight, “Jai Ho” from Slumdog Millionaire, Bruce Springsteen’s “The Wrestler” from The Wrestler and “Once in a Lifetime” by Beyoncé Knowles for Cadillac Records, however the decision has been reversed as it wasn’t written specifically for the movie, one of the awards’ key criteria for inclusion.

Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" is no longer on the run for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media at 2010 Grammy Awards. Weeks after being announced to receive the nod, the song is revealed to be disqualified from the competition due to the fact that it was not specifically penned for "Hannah Montana: The Movie".
While the news came as a surprise for many, a source inside Cyrus camp insisted that the pulling out of "The Climb" was hardly a shock. In fact, the source as reported by People magazine claimed that the song written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe was submitted in the category by mistake. When the error was discovered, the song was withdrawn a day following the December 2 nominations announcement.
Taking the slot left by "The Climb" is "All Is Love", the song written by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for Maurice Sendak book adaptation,

Miley is out, Karen O is in. That was the news "Where the Wild Things Are" director Spike Jonze announced on his "We Love You So" blog Wednesday.
"In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified after the fact," read the note from an employee of O's label, Interscope Geffen A&M. "The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote count, which is Karen O and the Kids' 'All Is Love.' "
A spokesperson for O's label confirmed news of the unexpected nomination for the song written by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer and bandmate Nick Zinner for the big-screen adaptation of the Maurice Sendak children's classic. The Grammy site does reflect the change,

[Exclusive Interview] Columbus Short on Armored

When I hopped on the phone with Columbus Short I didn’t know what to expect. The only film I had seen him in was Cadillac Records — nothing else. So it was quite a nice surprise that the interview ended up going as well as it did. Columbus was extremely friendly and it became one of those interviews where it felt more so like a conversation. After being in a series of films as a side character, he’s finally now headlining his own film with Armored. While I haven’t got a chance to see it yet, I’m looking forward to it. Considering it’s from Nimrod Antal, the man behind Kontroll and the upcoming Predator remake, it will most likely be worthwhile. Armored is now in theaters.
Can you first talk about how you got involved? Did they chase you down for it or did you go after the role?

Is it fair to compare a young, second time film maker with one of cinema's all time greats? No, of course it's not. But if Thomas Ikimi's ultra low budget debut Limbo wasn't enough to convince you that he has aspersions towards making the same sort of high concept thrillers that made Hitchcock famous, well, a quartet of concept posters for his sophomore effort are here to make that point clear. Titled Legacy, the film stars The Wire's Idris Elba in the lead and the just-released poster art has that classic Saul Bass influence all over it.
