Carpenter's performance spot on!, 8 March 2009
Author: bricksterr from Canada

I had no interest in this movie (I am not a horror movie fan) until a few women, who do not know each other, described Carpenter's performance almost with identical praise. They were floored by the fact that they themselves could almost feel the horror that the character was going through.

Carpenter, with her unique beauty, starts off the role with the same goofy, tomboyish awkwardness that she pulls off so well in Dexter. It isn't until the intensity level increases that her character devolves into a trembling, gasping, heart pounding strait-jacket candidate. I loved it. Now if you think this is high praise for over-acting then I'll assume one of the following:

1)You Are Lara Logan B)You Know Lara Logan III)You Are Lara Logan's husband.

I, on the other hand, am married to the Carpenter's "Angela" type of character and unless you know a women who could become absolutely unhinged with fear than I don't think you can fully appreciate this performance.

As I stated earlier, I am no horror fan. Although I'm not the kind of guy who counts how many bullets were fired and how many should be left I will mutter "gimme a break" under my breath every so often. However, this movie requires no greater stretch of the imagination than other movies of it's kind and is well worth the watch for Carpenter's performance alone.
