Quotes

Tazz: I don't know how the ref missed that one. He's either got something in his eye, or something in this pocket. Get it?
Joey Styles: Well, my eyesight's 20/20, partner. Apparently we can't say the same about the referee's eyesight.

Pretty good. Never really more than that.

When it comes to mediocre WWE games, this game definitely is in the top 10 list. Not to say that this game is bad, as it's far from it, but when it comes to a few important aspects of this type of game, this game can leave a few people, like myself, disappointed. While there's still a lot to like in this game, it can be hard to look past the glaring flaws that this game sadly brings to the table. Before I get into that, I'm going to list all of the positives. One being the Creation Suite. For 2007, it is amazing, as it brings a lot of the same great features that SvR 2007 had, while adding a few new minor additions, which can make for hours of creating the superstars/championships you always wanted to create. The soundtrack of this game is also great, as it consists of a lot of metal/punk, with a few hip hop songs, which all fit very well for what game this is. The gameplay is also more fine-tuned and more fluid, which is awesome. The visuals are also a step-up as well, as everything looks a lot more detailed than previous games. All in all, this game seems like it would be great in 2007. But, that wasn't the case, unfortunately. Because this game, while its Creation Suite, more fluid gameplay, and better visuals are definitely worth praising, this game takes a few significant steps backwards in other departments. One being the semi-disappointing roster. While most of the current roster at the time is on there, there aren't as many legends and choices to choose from compared to previous games. Another is the clean/dirty ability gameplay mechanics. While the idea may seem good on paper, it just never really worked out, as it made the match either way too easy or too hard, depending on whether or not you had the dirty/clean ability, and it was just never anything I ever used really, and I honestly didn't miss it when it was gone. The most disappointing thing about this game, however, is the story mode. 24/7 mode is something that seemed like a fun idea, but was executed so poorly, that it felt more like a chore to play through than anything else. The reason why I say this is because it can get really repetitive and a bit monotonous after a while, and can become boring really fast. And the fact that you must play through it to unlock things can become a bit tedious at times, but at least it has unlockables, so it has at least a little bit of replay value, I guess. But still, I have never played a story mode so convoluted and dull in a WWE game in a long time. All in all, this game does have a lot to offer that's great, but it also has a lot that weighs it down from being great, as this game is pretty good, but never really more than that.

7/10

Pros: Great Creation Suite, Great Soundtrack, Better Gameplay, Better Visuals

Cons: Disappointing Story Mode, Semi-Disappointing Roster, Impractical Dirty/Clean abilities
