Brad Fuller Talks Nightmare on Elm Street Reshoots and the Fate of Friday the 13th 2 3-D

24 December 2009 4:22 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

When news surfaces that a movie needs to undergo reshoots, it's usually a sign of trouble. So when word got out that A Nightmare on Elm Street needed the reshoot treatment, fans got nervous. Producer Brad Fuller quickly responded via his Platinum Dunes blog to explain what was happening.

While many of you are enjoying a Christmas break, I am working everyday on Elm Street. I have read all the rumors and want to make sure that you have the facts. We are doing a couple of days of reshooting Elm Street. People seem to be making a big deal about that fact. Elm Street is our 8th film and we've had reshoots for every film. As I have stated here many times, I try to read everything and I pay attention. The fans input has always been so valuable to me, and Elm Street is no exception. I don't »

A Nightmare on Elm Street Heading Back for Reshoots

22 December 2009 12:52 PM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Apparently Clash of the Titans isn't the only 80s remake in need of tinkering. According to a casting notice that went out Tuesday night, the Jackie Earl Hayley-led A Nightmare on Elm Street is searching for extras to play "Funeral Goers."

Project Name:nightmare on Elm Street (Reshoots)

Project Type:Feature Film

Rate/Compensation:$134

Message:

RoleRole TypeGender/Age/EthnicitiesDescription/Note

Funeral GOERSBackgroundMale or Female / 22 to 55 / CaucasianUpscale conservative men & women needed. *please state in your post if you have black clothing and a black trench. I also need a blonde woman with a grey suit (medium gray color).

Given the amount of bloodshed promised, it's unclear whose funeral is being filmed. It could be Freddy Krueger or any of his multiple victims resting in the casket.

While reshoots are never a welcome sign, Elm Street doesn't release until April 30, 2010 making them sound less worrisome than those needed for Clash of the Titans and its March 26 release date. »

Kellan Lutz Would Like to Appear in Bourne 4 and Play Captain America

12 December 2009 1:22 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Kellan Lutz will have a busy 2010 with A Nightmare on Elm Street and playing Emmet Cullen in The Twlight Saga: Eclipse, however Lutz told The Dishrag that he'd like to keep busy by joining a couple other movie franchises.

I'm making this checklist as an actor. Right now I just really want to be part of the Bourne franchise and the more I say that, maybe Matt Damon will read it and it and maybe I can play his brother.

Lutz would like to play a superhero as well.

I'd love to be Captain America someday.

Should Lutz not get cast in those dream projects, he has a variety of other projects in his future.

Most are action films and a couple of romantic comedies and I'm just thrilled with all the scripts.

Reshoots Set For A Nightmare on Elm Street

Some unwanted and ultimately disappointing news from the camp of the new 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' production. It appears that Samuel Bayer's reimagining has fallen victim to the dreaded 'reshoots'! It seems that the Platinum Dunes' production just isn't up to scratch at the moment failing to excite it's audiences at it's first screenings. Is Elm Street in Trouble?

8 December 2009 12:00 PM, PST | HorrorYearbook | See recent HorrorYearbook news »

NightmareonElmStreetMovie.com has discovered (via SpoilerTV) a new casting call for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010, suggesting that Platinum Dunes is planning on shooting some additional scenes. But why? Re-shoots can be a sign of many things, like the studio wasn't happy with what they saw, or that the director just thought the movie needed more. It can also mean Platinum Dunes is bending to test marketing or fan feedback, which is not necessarily a good thing, especially since test marketing is the number one killer of creativity in Hollywood. Whatever the reason for the re-shoots, I'm willing to bet that it can't be a good thing with super hack Brad Fuller at the helm. I also find it very strange that the director of the film, Samuel Bayer, has been so quiet up to this point. Do you think things are going bad on Elm Street or is it just buisness as usual? »

Where to see the 'Twilight,' 'New Moon,' and 'Eclipse' stars in 2010

8 December 2009 11:54 AM, PST | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

The Twilight cast is positively gigantic at this point. With The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse complete, the list of cast members has grown significantly. There are some who play, well, bigger roles in the film series (i.e., Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner), but even with a cast this formidable, each .... Ashley Greene (Skateland), Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Ayanna Berkshire, Billy Burke (Highland Park, Shadow Play), Boo Boo Stewart (Smitty, Logan), Cam Gigandet (Easy A, Five Star Day, Priest, Kerosene Cowboys, Burlesque), Dakota Fanning (The Runaways), Graham Greene, Jamie Campbell Bower (Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I, London Boulevard), Jackson Rathbone (Dread, Girlfriend, The Last Airbender), Kellan Lutz (A Nightmare On Elm Street), Michael Sheen (Alice In Wonderland), Michael Welch, Jack Huston, Jose Zuniga, Matt Bushell, Rachelle Lefevre, Solomon Trimble, Tinsel Korey »

Website Spoiler TV has posted a new casting breakdown for the Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street, which has been doing rounds of test screenings as of late. It appears that the entirely new scene will involve new characters. Maybe it'll be used as plot explanation to clear up something that confused the test audiences? Shooting additional scenes Is different than reshoots, so who knows the actual reason for the forthcoming filming. Being released by Warner Bros. on April 30, a group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. A Nightmare on Elm Street Shooting Additional Scenes

8 December 2009 7:06 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

It appears that last month’s early review of A Nightmare On Elm Street might have been right about its many shortcomings, as the Platinum Dunes’ remake is currently reshooting scenes of the film. While reshoots are nothing new in the film industry, these reshoots are big enough that they require new casting.

Take a look at the casting sheet. If you fit any of these descriptions, maybe you can help make this film not suck.

Are You Ready for Freddy? New Images from Nightmare Remake Appear Online

It’s no secret that I’m a little hesitant to dip myself in unbridled excitement for Samuel Bayer’s upcoming remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” due in part to the wild rumors that the film may be saddled with an unsightly PG-13 rating. Be that as it may, the latest images lurking at Omelete are a little on the intriguing side. Still, despite my urge to give myself over to the hype, my suspicions remain strong. I am, however, willing to eat massive amounts of crow if this thing turns out to be awesome beyond comprehension. We shall see. In the meantime, feast your eyes on the pics below. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” should invade your dreams on April 16th, 2010. »
