Intense Aussie short that would probably better suit the feature format., 23 October 2008

I saw this short film recently at MUFF and have to say that despite it's short duration, I was pretty impressed. It's not often that a short film leaves you wanting more, and THE END did just that. There's so much more I want to know about these troubled characters beyond their primal instincts and because of that, I think it'd make a pretty sweet feature. I'd watch it!

For a short film, THE END has balls. That's undeniable. There's something like a death every two minutes and even more f-bombs. What sets this film apart from all the other gun toting, fist flying 'youth violence' flicks however, is the heart at the core of it all. It's moving to see just how far one would go for his 'brother'. Especially, at such a tender age.

Looking back, it's probably one of the most intense shorts I've seen in a long time, if not ever... I'd be keen to see what these guys come up with next. An extended version, I hope.
