Storyline

When a High School Spanish teacher, Will Schuester, becomes the director of the school's failing Glee club, New Directions, he hopes to be able to rejuvenate it. The club competes in the choir competition circuit. It's been called "a High School Musical for adults", the series follows the club and its mixture of oddball members as they try and restore it to its former glory. It is a musical comedy in which the eager and ambitious students not only compete to win the Nationals, but also have to deal with the tough and cruel realities of their school, McKinley High. At the same time, Will is trying to rejuvenate his failing love life whilst preventing the school's cheer leading coach Sue Sylvester from sabotaging the choir. Written by WellardRockard

Trivia

Over the years, specially on the first couple of seasons, many actors, actresses, and singers were rumored to guest star on the show, like Justin Timberlake (as Will's brother), Jennifer Lopez, Javier Bardem (as a has-been rock star), Anne Hathaway (as Kurt's lesbian aunt), Julie Andrews (as Kurt's grandmother) or Bette Midler, who asked Ryan Murphy on Twitter, to be on the show. Bardem and Hathaway were reportedly approached for those characters, and it was Bardem who suggested his role. See more »

kind of a loss of anything good here
6 April 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

From the Pilot to the latest episodes to have been released from the second season, last at this point being 'Original Song', there have been some major plot changes and the storyline has gone drastically downhill. It used to be a very captivating show that left you drooling and gripping your remote waiting for the next Tuesday night just so you can see what happens next and how it will progress. Giving such life to Kurt, Puck, and other characters who weren't spotlighted on in the first season, it became something that you had to see to watch the underdog rise up. It was a truly inspiring underdog story. In such a short period of time and 45 episodes into the hit T.V. show they have turned it from captivating story to "when is it going to get good again?" They have killed any interesting characters in a metaphorical sense, and destroyed any plot that may have been and replaced it with something that looks like "what can we do to put in random sh*t that has nothing to do with anything just for the hell of it and screw any sort of good story?" I will hope to see something good happen by the end of Season 2 or hope that they just cancel the show altogether instead of watch it destroy itself and go completely under.
