Storyline

Shadow is a man with a past. But now he wants nothing more than to live a quiet life with his wife and stay out of trouble. Until he learns that she's been killed in a terrible accident. Flying home for the funeral, as a violent storm rocks the plane, he is greeted by a strange man in the seat next to him. The man calls himself Mr. Wednesday, and he knows more about Shadow than is possible. He warns Shadow that a far bigger storm is coming. And from that moment on, nothing will ever be the same. Just another Hollywood (Canadian/Hollywood) bit of fluff.
22 March 2017 | by (Eastwood, CA) – See all my reviews

In the movie "Black Rain" Ken Takakura, playing the detective opposite Michael Douglas said "America, ...only good for making movies." However, what we see with "American Gods" is yet one more attempt to convince watchers that as long as we, Hollywood, stick to the Formula, i.e., we churn out drivel because it's all we allow (when was the last time anyone saw a really good foreign film--other than subsidized Chinese martial arts movies that is) you to watch. Someone once defined Pornography as any form of communication, e.g., photographs, movies, etc., that have no socially redeeming value and it seems that Hollywood, et al, have decided that that is all their viewers need or want (despite obvious evidence to the contrary-as especially highlighted by the last Presidential election). My only hope is that as the US continues to recover from it's latest round of political skull-buggery, Hollywood and their minions in Canada will, at last, understand that we deserve better.
