Storyline

SPOILER: Orphan Black follows outsider, orphan and street-wise chameleon Sarah. After witnessing a woman's suicide, Sarah assumes the stranger's identity - who happens to look just like her. Expecting to solve all her problems by cleaning out the dead woman's savings, Sarah is instead thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery as she realizes the dizzying truth - she and the dead woman are clones. As Sarah searches for answers, she discovers the chilling fact that there are more people like her out there - genetically identical individuals who were planted in unsuspecting birth parents and nurtured in completely different circumstances. With no idea who created the clones, she'll need to discover the reason in a hurry as an assassin is killing them one by one. Written by Annonymous

Trivia

To help her prepare to play her "clones", Tatiana Maslany created playlists and dances which she thought epitomised their character. She gave Cosima 'rave dance' (with glow sticks), Alison ballet, and Helena was kept private in her trailer. See more »

Goofs

Cosima mentions in season 1 that Katja's fingerprints would be close enough to Sarah's that running Katja's prints through standard police search would pull up Sarah's rap-sheet. No one seems worried that Beth's fingerprints should have been just as similar, and as a police officer her prints would definitely be in the system. Why didn't Sarah's rap-sheet emerge when Beth applied to become a police officer? Why did the system match Katja to Sarah but not to Beth? See more »

Roller Coaster Fun
25 May 2013 | by (USA) – See all my reviews

Fun show -- roller coaster plot. Not something to be over analyzed, just something to enjoy. If you're annoyed by not-so-great attempts at a British accent, or German ones for that matter, you might want to skip this one. If you like a heavy dose of plot twists, and a story that keeps you guessing -- definitely take a look at Orphan Black :-)

Not sure how long they can keep the momentum on something like this, as it's not similar to anything else I've seen. At first glance, I'd say this lends itself well to a mini-series format. Conclude the story and be done with it -- hopefully they won't attempt to milk it for more advertising dollars.

24 meets Sci-Fi and thankfully the SyFy network hasn't grabbed this one and ruined it...
