What the Death of Morley Safer Has to Do With Megyn Kelly and Trump
The death of Morley Safer is a loss for television journalism; he was an avuncular presence who never minded going for the jugular. We could use more of that.

Safer never made himself the story, unlike some of the more puffed-up, big-name news stars he came up with. He was a curious man whose laid-back presence belied a meticulous attention to detail. Very little escaped his notice, and yet he did not make a big deal of the learning and experience he brought to each story. He made whatever he was talking about or whomever he was interviewing the most interesting thing on the screen. But it takes a great deal of skill to do that: To shape the story or construct a narrative without making it all about the correspondent takes wisdom and a depth of insight and perspective.

And yet for all his calmness, Safer was truly cut

Nashville Sneak Peeks: Are Rayna and Juliette Ready to Move On?

First things first, let us take a moment to mourn Nashville‘s demise. Last week was a bloodbath for over a dozen network shows, and unfortunately, our beloved country drama was one of the casualties. With that in mind, it’s time to savor the last few episodes of the series. Compounding the hurt of the series’s cancellation is the fact that most of the drama’s characters are in complete turmoil. On the bright side emotional drama is a staple of country music, so we are sure to get a few more great songs before we reach the end. The last few

Shameless Season 6, episode 7 recap – “Pimp’s Paradise”

Last week’s Shameless was a crazy wild ride, offering some closure to some circumstances but only the beginning of others. So looking forward to this week’s episode, I was disappointed — super snoozefest — and it took some weird turns. I have noticed this show is a rollercoaster. Build up a storyline … drag it out … then poof! Over! Move on to a new one. There are, of course, some key points in this episode that launch the next arch in the Gallaghers’ twisted lives. Which is — of course — what always keeps me loving this show. So with my editorial opinion out … Continue reading →

Basically, rom-coms are making us think actions that are actually pretty creepy and borderline stalker-ish are romantic, sweet or passionate. Lippman looked at women's responses to aggressive behavior in relationships in two groups. Interview: Condemned Director Eli Morgan Gesner!

Interview: Condemned Director Eli Morgan Gesner!
Hey there creeps! Remember when I gave ya the skinny on the new splatter gem Condemned — a flick containing more bodily fluids than a couch in the San Fernando Valley? Well, guess what? The flicks die-rector, Eli Morgan Gesner, just strolled on into the Crypt o’ Xiii for a lil’ chittin’ and chattin’!

Famous Monsters. Condemned is vile, disgusting, perverse, and absolutely 100% awesome! How did you come up with such a heady ghoul-ash?

Eli Morgan Gesner. The main idea was to make a New York City horror film. In my opinion, this is one of the most challenging ideas possible. Most horror films have their foundation in isolation — a cabin in the woods, lost on the Texas plains, Antarctic research base, etc. Essentially, there’s no one to come and help once the s–t hits the fan. In New York City, once the s–t hits the fan, everyone

Under The Dome cancelled, not returning for season 4

  • Den of Geek
When Under The Dome season 3 ends next week, that'll be CBS' final ever visit to Chester's Mill as the show has been cancelled...

You'll forgive us if we don't fly the flags at half-mast for this one. Under The Dome, CBS' summertime Stephen King adaptation, is officially ending at the close of season three.

That means no more Big Jim and his menacingly tight shirt buttons, no more of Junior's bovine beauty, no more of Julia's bouncing, luxurious hair, and most of all, no more bonkers leaps of illogic that assume the show's viewers have fewer critical faculties than a toddler yet to understand that Teddy doesn't actually disappear when Daddy covers him with a blanket.

We jest. It's a show that, for all its faults, never stopped trying. You had to admire its moxie, if nothing else. And far be it from us to applaud when any work

Synopsis:

Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

There is something undeniable rotten at the heart of this film. A $120 million production from 20th Century Fox designed, planned, and released for no other reason simply other than that it can be made. The rights to characters have been bought, percentage of profits decided and sequel release dates set in motion before a key is hit on the keyboard used to write the first draft. Of course, every film is made to make a profit but the chasm between setting out to make a
