Rian Johnson Teases Luke’s Return To The Millenium Falcon In The Last Jedi

If Rian Johnson is working to maintain some semblance of mystery around Supreme Leader Snoke – word is The Last Jedi will answer most (but not all!) of our questions come December – then the sequel’s writer-director has adopted a similar approach to the great Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill’s all-powerful Force-user went into exile soon after the events of Jedi, and it was only when Daisy Ridley’s Rey touched down on Ahch-To that Star Wars fans caught a glimpse of Hamill’s jaded hero. And though he was initially taken aback by Johnson’s vision for the character, The Last Jedi is poised to introduce a “haunted” Luke who is essentially a shell of his former self. This is something that’ll apparently carry over into his return to the Millenium Falcon, too.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly how Luke will react once he’s back in the ship,

The promotional campaign for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in full swing, as the movie is less than 30 days away from hitting theaters. Entertainment Weekly is celebrating with 4 brand new covers that each feature 2 characters, along with teasing headlines that are firing up the speculation train. One of the covers that's gaining the most attention is one that shows Rey and Kylo Ren with a title that reads, "Could Rey fall to the Dark Side?" The cover consists of 2 images of Rey and Kylo Ren that are clearly not from the same scene, but within the story there are 10 new, never-before-seen images from The Last Jedi, one of which shows Kylo Ren and Rey in Snoke's throne room.

‘Han Solo’ Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord Reveal Departure Reason: ‘Our Approach Was Really Different’
It’s never easy to get let go from a project, but in their first public appearance since exiting what’s now been titled “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” Phil Lord and Chris Miller handled it gracefully.

“The experience of shooting the movie was wonderful,” Lord said to the crowd at Vulture Festival Sunday. “In terms of us leaving the project, everyone went in with really good intentions and our approach was really different from theirs… The gap was too big.”

Added Lord, “Sometimes people break up and it’s sad. We learned a lot from our collaborators, we’re really proud of our work and wish everyone with the best.”

Netflix picks up Super-Normal starring Josh Gad, Luke Evans and Daisy Ridley

Last month it was announced that Josh Gad would be reuniting with his Beauty and the Beast co-star Luke Evans and Murder on the Orient Express cast mate Daisy Ridley for the superhero project Super-Normal, and now comes word that Netflix has snapped up the rights to the feature film.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, Super-Normal is described as “a character-driven comedy that takes an original spin on the superhero genre”, and is based on an original idea by Gad, with a script from Aaron and Jordan Kandel (Moana). Gad and Evans are set to serve as executive producers on Super-Normal along with Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin.

Gad and Ridley can currently be seen in theaters in Murder on the Orient Express, with Ridley also reprising her role as Rey next month for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Evans last appeared in Professor Marston and the Wonder Women,

New ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Images Tease the Fates of Rey and Kylo Ren

A few weeks back, Marvel released Taika Waititi's lively yet slight Thor: Ragnarok while this weekend saw the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, a genuine disaster. That means that little more than a few weeks stands between hungry audiences and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eighth volume in the proper Star Wars saga, not including Rogue One or the upcoming Han Solo movie. Of course, some people might be really looking forward to Coco - I hear its very good - but in the realm of blockbusters, Marvel, DC, and Star Wars are the big players at the …

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’: EW Covers, New Photos & Tempting Talk Of The Dark Side

Director Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is less than a month away. And it’s been a pretty good year for Johnson. He’s the only “Star Wars” filmmaker that hasn’t been kicked off, fired or pushed off his film in the last 18 months. Not only that, Lucasfilm seems to love the guy and they’ve given him the keys to a new upcoming “Star Wars” trilogy that apparently won’t arrive until 2020 and will have nothing to do with the Skywalker saga.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Will be the Longest “Star Wars” Movie Yet

For some time, people have been speculating that the runtime for Star Wars: The Last Jedi would be 150 minutes. This is because a number of movie theater websites cited said figure for said movie. However, there was still plenty of room for doubt because it is not uncommon for such websites to use placeholders before said information has been revealed to them. With that said, it is now clear that the 150 minutes runtime was no placeholder but rather the simple truth, having been confirmed by Rian Johnson of all people on November 17. What happened was that Rian

The Tracking Board is reporting that Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Scarlett Johansson (Captain America: Civil War), Laura Dern (Big Little Lies), Merritt Wever (The Walking Dead) and Azhy Robertson (Juliet, Naked) are set to star in the new film from director Noah Baumbach (Mistress America, The Meyerowitz Stories).

2018 Oscar Predictions: Best Sound Editing

2018 Oscar Predictions: Best Sound Editing
The sound in “Dunkirk” is crucial for this almost-silent, radically structured action movie. And “War for the Planet of the Apes” is also relatively dialogue light–except when Woody Harrelson’s Kurtz-like Colonel and Andy Serkis as Caesar explode in a dramatic face-off. And each time Ryan Gosling’s K in “Blade Runner,” Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman or Ansel Elgort’s Baby Driver enters a new landscape, the sound design clues us into what’s going on.

Here are our current predictions in alphabetical order. No movie will be deemed a frontrunner until I see it.

Frontrunners:

Will Files (“War for the Planet of the Apes”)

Richard King (“Dunkirk”)

Mark Mangini (“Blade Runner 2049”)

James Mather (“Wonder Woman”)

Julian Slater (“Baby Driver”)

Contenders:

Craig Berkey (“Darkest Hour”)

Richard Hymns (“The Post”)

Eric A. Norris, Steven Ticknor (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”)

Warren Shaw (“Beauty and the Beast”)

Donald Sylvester (“Logan”)

Partial Description Of Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Surfaces

Unless you were one of the fortunate few in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con – or you happened to catch a bootleg recording of said clip before it was yanked offline four months ago – the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has been as elusive as they come.

In fact, such is the pent-up demand for Marvel’s 2018 preview that Joe and Anthony Russo recently teased fans via social media on the belief that “some things can’t be rushed: good music and good wine.” And the first-look teaser for Infinity War, it seems.

But as we approach the year’s end, and Thor: Ragnarok maintains its grip on the global box office, it’s surely only a matter of weeks before Marvel officially lifts the lid on Avengers: Infinity War. Indeed, last we reported the studio’s head honcho Kevin Feige hinted that it would drop in and around the same timeframe as Ragnarok,
