Storyline

Barry Allen is a Central City police forensic scientist with a reasonably happy life, despite the childhood trauma of a mysterious red and yellow lightning killing his mother and framing his father. All that changes when a massive particle accelerator accident leads to Barry being struck by lightning in his lab. Coming out of coma nine months later, Barry and his new friends at S.T.A.R labs find that he now has the ability to move at superhuman speed. Furthermore, Barry learns that he is but one of many affected by that event, most of whom are using their powers for evil. Determined to make a difference, Barry dedicates his life to fighting such threats, as The Flash. While he gains allies he never expected, there are also secret forces determined to aid and manipulate him for their own agenda. Written by Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com)

Goofs

Whenever Barry uses his super speed from a standing start, there is a gust of wind that blows in the opposite direction (for instance, if he superspeeds to the left, there is an airburst that blows to the right). Engaging his super speed in this manner would cause a suction effect creating an airburst in the same direction he's moving in. See more »

Stupidly good
1 July 2016 | by See all my reviews

Oh my god I love this show. The Flash is everything DC's movies currently aren't: good.

It's perfect. Just watch this show. The characters feel real and the story is compelling. They managed to keep a fun, light atmosphere while still delivering a gripping story. I truly feel for these characters when they go through a situation.

Grant Guston is the Flash. He plays the character with such sincerity that you lose sight of the fact that he's an actor.

The same goes for Jesse Martin as Joe West. Any scene with either him or Tom Cavanagh steals the show. Their performances don't even belong on a CW show. They are punching so much higher than their pay grade.

Plus, you can tell that everyone on the show really loves being there. This show is a celebration of comic books and I wouldn't have it any other way!
