Bad plot, sells loud for scary This is so bad and cheap. BUT it has a
potential in sequels (seems to me like they want to make more) to get better if they make a huge effort - everything can be better (it's not actually so hard but the result would be so much better, big difference) - and back to the movie - what a waste of money on the making of this movie... the only thrill is the trick they use when volume is too low and then it becomes too high in the scenes that should be scary - I had to lower volume every time when I expect something to happen so that I wouldn't damage my hearing - I don't need those cheap thrills, I need a good plot... the actors probably couldn't take serious such a poor plot since the actors are not convincing to me as well, though some of them I like to watch in many other movies, especially Lin Shaye.
Funny or scary? Neither.
In certain moments it looked more like a parody/comedy and not a real horror movie.I know that in some short moments they actually wanted to seem funny, but there was no balance cause there was no any weight on the beam scale... Previous parts were a bit better although the same remark basically stands for all of them, for previous a can even give a 6 starts, but this one was really disappointing, I expected it to be at least a five by my standards. For a six I expect at least a little bit more convincing plot, I don't even expect it to be scary for a six, just to be interesting.
When the industry chooses...
And for a long time now, not just only about this movie or genre I ask myself - can't they really find some better scenarios, I feel like in Hollywood it's all about having connections to get the money, no matter how low the quality of the material is offered. There must be a person with better scenarios sitting jobless and broke somewhere, wondering what's this all about...
Majority and standards...
Or is it really possible that the general public which is aimed by Hollywood horror industry has such low standards...I hope not, though the industry really tries hard not to have to raise them as it seems. But ratings here and on many other movies discourage me - some movies are overrated and some underrated
