Storyline

'MARIANISMO' is an epic drama staged across the sweeping landscapes of Mexico. The story, based on true events, is divided into three inter-woven parts. Primarily, it chronicles the last ditch efforts of an all female self-defense group in Los Reyes, protecting their agricultural village against all odds from the marauding local Cartels. The second story follows the expelled classroom of Los Reyes children fleeing the village carnage across Mexico, facing every kind of danger in their thousand-mile path to safety across the US border. Finally at its core, the adoption story of a childless American couple, Taylor and Matt, wandering the Mexican earth almost invisible, dodging bullets and violence until they are made whole through their love for an abandoned Mexican child, a victim of the local turmoil.
