Rick Sanchez: Come on, flip the pickle, Morty, you're not gonna regret it. The payoff is huge. I turned myself into a pickle, Morty! Boom! Big reveal! I'm a pickle! What do you think about that? I turned myself into a pickle! W-w-what are you just staring at me for, bro, I turned myself into a pickle, Morty.

Better than expected

What i liked about this episode is the fact that there is no portal gun used whatsoever, overall it feels like a smooth adventure, without usual scene rupturing(from dimension to dimension) which is on of the hallmarks of the entire series. The fact that Morty and the family did not act surprised at Rick's weird transformation, outlines difference between Rick and the rest, for him it's just another absurd, random and eccentric action, fitting well with his nihilistic worldview. If there is no reason, meaning, and nothing is taken in it's earnest, even relationships, then one might as well turn into a pickle, just for the sake of it. Episode is full of everything that people love about this show, bizarre, hilarious, ingenious and incredibly self-conscious (mis?)adventure. This Jaguar character felt a bit shallow and overall not exactly in the mood with the show, nevertheless it is clear that creators still have it in them, which is reassuring, after (while not written by them) the arguably one of the worst episodes to date(Rickmancing the Stone).
