Story starts at the murder scene of Dr. Anatole Trotsky, owner and head shrink of his long-standing psychiatric practice, Trotsky and Associates. A hard-boiled Detective, on his last case prior to retirement, starts the hunt for the killer. Five months earlier, Marie Castro, mother to troubled Adam Castro, is desperate to find help for her son after several doctors have failed to provide good treatment. At a book store, Adam finds a book written by Dr. James Franz about exposure therapy, mindfulness and facing one's demons head on. Due to Adam's interest in the book, Marie contacts Dr. Franz, begging him to take Adam into his care. Her plea comes just in time to save Dr. Franz's job at the practice. Early into twelve weeks of therapy, Adam shows progress, which strengthens Dr. Franz's confidence and his comeback at the practice. Then, Adam's obsession with killing grows, now focused on a single individual, the very head of the practice, Dr. Trotsky himself. Written by M.D.Sakren

Did You Know?

Amygdala Warrior was produced through a filmmaking workshop called GLENBROOK STUDIOS CINELAB LLC, using props and wardrobe available to cast, who also served as crew. Filmed on a DSLR (Sony RX10) with sound recorded in-camera as part of an on-location ADR process, Amygdala Warrior had a simple production approach. Assemble a good cast and let the director lead the way. Locations varied and the producers thank everyone who offered a location to the production. All in all, this film was a bootstrap effort, proving that creative storytelling wins the day, not fancy equipment. "Camera's don't shoot films. People do." says Marko Sakren, writer, director, producer. See more »
